In this instance, I’d say both. We’re analyzing Satoru Gojo, who happens to be the strongest, because he’s cool asf and deep or whatever, and we’re analyzing the strongest, who happens to be Satoru Gojo, because he’s strong asf.

Think of it like this, If he wasnt satoru gojo, if he wasnt who he was, if he wasnt so well written and cool and interesting and all that, he would just be another "the strongest" so the only reason that hes being analyzed right now over other "strongest" characters is because hes satoru gojo, in conclusion, we analyze the strongest because hes satoru gojo

This is actually a very good point you make in the end. Yuji have always been rather... weak? Compared to other protagonists in manga/anime. For some reason, it is always the main character who gets power ups. Then a new bigger, badder boss shows up. And the main character gets another power up. If the solution to Sukuna is teamwork, then that will actually be a rather fresh take in my opinion. We all love godlike characters but I mean. We've been through this haven't we? ^^

interestingly enough, in that bonus chapter in which every character was asked who's Gojo to them and they all finished with "he's the strongest" but when Mimiko and Nanako asked Geto who's Gojo and if he really was the strongest, he just said he was his best friend and didn't say anything about him being the strongest. so for Geto, Gojo was still just Satoru even after the fallout and what he might have said to burn the bridges. it makes sense that when Gojo was stripped of the title of "the strongest" and remained his human self, Geto was the first one he saw as well as all the people from his blue spring, the time when he was the happiest. just like Gojo said he would have been satisfied if Geto had been by his side before the fight and Geto's emotional reaction to that. in the end, Gojo finally looked happy and carefree again. people say Gege hates Gojo because he trolls way too often but I found Gojo's death to be the most merciful and beautifully written. he's free of the burdens of jujutsu society, free of contradictions between his human soul and in-human power, free of searching for the meaning of his existence and identity. he's finally just Gojo Satoru. and i think Gege had the most interesting approach to writing an "OP character" - someone who has everything but can do nothing because that power keeps him away from everything his soul wants. the paradox. I think Sukuna was in a similar position in the past but chose power when Gojo chose humanity. Gojo may have lost the battle because of that but finally found peace. for whatever reason, I think Sukuna is looking for his own kind of peace too.

I agree his death wasn't the problem for me. For me its the dialog and how the fight went before he died. The fight should have been wayy more back and forth not Gojo dominating and the excuse is Sukuna holding back. Ryomen only had the advantage during the domain clash and that was only cause of him not closing his barrier. Sukuna should not have been holding back we should have seen almost all of Ryomen techniques besides maybe 1 just to give us a nice suprise later. After that last purple Urame should have showed up to deliver his curse tool and that is when Sukuna should have reverted to his actual body. Now show case how powerful his real body is by having him dog walk Gojo for a lil bit before finishing him off with his upgraded dismantle and cleave.

For as cool/great as it would’ve been for Sukuna to use his full arsenal on Gojo, it’s been explicitly stated that Sukuna is holding back BECAUSE he knows he’ll have to fight everyone else right after. He’s keeping his abilities secret to improve his chances of winning by catching everyone by surprise. If it had been anyone other than Kashimo when Sukuna got his Vajra, it very likely would’ve been another easy kill for Sukuna because they didn’t know what the weapon was or what it was capable of.

@wizardwolf1020 Жыл бұрын
@@treysavage4570 the thing is that is that’s it not as simple as dragon ball where the ones with the most raw power wins 100% of the time. In fact, JJK has rock, paper, scissors types of match ups sometimes with certain characters acting as a great counter for other characters. Gojo’s infinity is always an annoyance to deal with for everyone that fights him but if you approach it like Sukuna could’ve without stuff like worrying about future fights or keeping abilities secret. Sukuna could throw out his arsenal of abilities at Gojo without restricting himself to 10s once he unleashes his Domain. For most characters, their DE is their CT taken to its max potential and that’s all they can really do which, forgetting that Gojo’s DE is more refined than nearly the whole verse, Gojo could most often just tank the DE save for some of the VERY hax ones like Self Embodiment of Perfection. Sukuna however has multiple other abilities to stack on top of Malevolent Shrine to add more damage. Higuruma is entering the battle for the specific purpose of acting as a nerf for Sukuna as part of the strategy to beat the King of Curses. This series is shaping up to be different from other Shonen like MHA who hand out bs power ups to the characters just so they could close the gap in power to make it easier for them to beat the villains. JJK isn’t like that though as it’s going to make it hell for the cast to beat Sukuna and Kenjaku with teamwork being a major requirement at the end of the day cause I seriously doubt they’re gonna be handed power ups so large, they eclipse the King of Curses in a day cause of some character development moment.

To me I really enjoyed the fact that Sukuna was introduced in the beginning and while the plot basically revolved around Sukuna and his strength he was mostly in the background or completely excluded from full episodes and chapters. Kenjaku was the perceived “Big Bad” as the puppet master. But then Kenjaku fell and now we have Heian Sukuna and he’s beat every single sorcerer that has opposed him. Killed some, lowkey violated others; several times in fact. All in 1 single fight, while our protagonist tag out to heal or be healed. All because Gojo would win. Now is gojo going to win via philosophies? Almost certainly considering what has been happening the past few chapters in this “Attack on Sukuna” like arc but still we wouldn’t even be here if Gojo refused to make Yuji eat all the fingers.

These divisive Shonen moments that makes the whole fanbase up in arms calling this the worst Shonen out, this is bad writing, the author is a fraud, "the story was always bad", "it fell off/ it peaked during this arc", etc is what I enjoy witnessing because it'll be fun to look back at it years later when those people changed their opinions and call it PEAK once the manga finishes and we have a better understanding of the story told. Man is a monster already, what the fuck would it be like if he really did just obtain true enlightenment. Honestly, the scariest this is just how possible it is. Because he is Gojo fucking Satoru, and he has Gege Akutani by the balls in this abusive relationship.😂😂😂 Out of everything, that is his greates feat. Not anything else, just that he, a fictional character, is pretty much in an abusive relationship with his Creator. Man is so OP he abuses God.😂😂😂 Joking aside, I do believe Gojo is coming back one way or another. ... 💡I GOT IT!! I know how to perfectly troll Akutani. Whenever he writes his next Manga, we all have to joke that the MC is just Gojo reborn. He'll hate it, it'll be hilarious!😂

Incredible video, your analysis is always so insightful and interesting. A lot of the ideas covered here were somewhat new to me even as someone who's read the manga several times. Also, where is that image at 7:53 from? I've searched through like half of the series looking for it for an edit thing and cannot find it for the life of me

I stumbled upon this video at 1AM and i was like "Hm, let me see what this is about and then ill go sleep" but i couldnt stop watching it. The way you speak and the points you bring up are so god damn engaging, that they make me want to binge all of your content. I was wondering, how are you making your scripts? How do you come up with the points that you bring up? I always struggled to analyze characters in anime or movies like this (just for my own enjoyment and understanding) and i was wondering if you do anything conscious for it. Do you consume a lot? Do you write a lot? What is it you do that allows you to be capable of this kind of analysis. Thank you for the video and time to read this!
@R7dman8 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comment! I spend a lot of time thinking about my favourite stories & discussing them with friends, I don't write nor consume a lot of fiction. I do consume a lot of analytical content & spend A LOT of time consuming my absolute favourite stories although I really should check out some more stuff lol. I don't do anything "conscious" for analysis but I'm always trying to place myself in the shoes of the writer when consuming any story and asking myself what the purpose of every little thing is. These creators pour their life into their work, the amount of thought that goes into even the smallest lines is staggering, simply acknowledging that opens the door to discovering a lot of cool things imo.

All i can say is "dam" this was just beautiful, especially the ending. I finally understand that Gojo would have lost anyway how could he kill his own student? sometimes i wish he just did but he's to kind to do such thing, ofc its sucks for me being a Gojo fan boy but wow great video and i love you gojo 😢❤.

Exactly, Gege was going too much for "shock factor" and don't think it translated well. I don't think he needed to make it abrupt as he did off ch 235. A well-written death can stand on its own without needing those tricks to llicit more of an emotional response. In fact, the emotional response can be opposite of what the author intended (be more offensive than sentimental) with the way its done.
@ultimateshadeofwar Жыл бұрын
42:06 It's probably not only that, i learn this through playing Digimon Survive, but there are myth's that the Cherry Blossoms require death beneath them to bloom, that they are planted where there are dead corpses... Yeah, it's ironically poetic what the whole meaning could be, he is reborn, but his death feeds the growth of the future youth

Gojo may seem like a very simple character, but the more I delved into him the more interesting he became in my view, deep down he didn't want to be remembered as the strongest, but rather as Satoru Gojo, the individual, the human being, and not simply an enormous force, apart from the fact that literally all of his powers are linked to his loneliness, the mugen prevents him from touching people , the red moves away, the blue tries to bring someone to Gojo, the purple destroys the connections, the six eyes prevent him from seeing people as a human being, but as a mass of energy, and his expansion is the representation of the distorted vision that the six eyes give him, giving infinite information besides literally the domain being an infinite solitude

@peltycrikts6990 Жыл бұрын
To be honest, I couldn't care less if Gojo lost, if it was actually intended from the start. This literal video proved the point Gege could only write Gojo as the strongest. But it's clear Gege forced this conclusion, because he never had one, as it doesn't fit with what he's stated already, it's literally a well done retcon, everyone's who agrees with the outcome of their fave Sakuna, praising cause it matched some lose statements out of context.

gojo is stronger than sukuna, i dont know about peak period sukuna, but the thing is sukuna never actually overpowered gojo in the fight, he merely outplayed him with his options, if maharaga or migumi werent where they were, then sukuna wouldve died in the first few chapters of the fight. pound for pound, gojo is a stronger sorcerer.

Gojo was also handicapped by not trying to outright fully kill Megumi, though it mentioned that he was giving it his all. Like he maybe giving his all with the confines of the capability he has with also trying to hold back to at least some extent for Megumi's sake.

He never said he needed Mahoraga, he said he wanted Mahoraga to bypass and adapt to gojo's infinity. His goal wasn't to beat gojo but was to become even stronger by improving his technique and Mahoraga was the answer to that.
