He just said something along the lines of I don't like people so I spend my days in the forrest... I felt that.

There are dead zones in certain areas of aokigahara though. I used to always go through the forest towards Shizuoka and there are lots of tracts land where there is no service.

Well said there's pockets of no signal 200m from the shop

I guess it makes sense it happens, but then if you keep moving you should be able to find a place where it works.

@@Exjapter not much good if you got a broken leg ... people who say there's phone service in Aokigahara are passing out bad and dangerous information

And if you forgot to charge your phone etc etc -lots of potential what ifs. There are potential dangers any time you enter a wilderness area, and there are occasional deadzones on the mountain paths around Kawaguchiko and plenty of other places. The point is to dispel the myth that Aokigahara is just some giant spooky deadzone because that just isn't true.

@@Exjapter mate your telling people there's phone signal in Aokigahara ...it's just not true ... your passing out dangerous information... not charging your phone has nothing to do with what I'm saying ...

What kind of animal is that at 16:34? Great video! I’d love to visit there while it’s snowing. It would make for some beautiful pictures.

That is a Japanese serow, or "coarse pelt deer." I saw one on the very first hike I ever went on in Japan, but they are pretty shy, not like those Nara deer!

There are some other decent videos out there I think. I haven't sorted through them but they aren't all bad. There are too many stupid ghost hunter types though.

The ribbon is so they can find their way out if they changed their mind or so that someone will find their body eventually . I do believe that's what the legend says. Also people say that they went with a compass and it didn't work once they reached deep into the forest.

I think this is true, generally, but a lot of the tape seems to lead to nothing. So, old sites?
