Driving sucks and is overrated. We need better public transport, walkability, passenger rail, and cycling infrastructure. Car dependence is killing us. The hateful comments I'm seeing here are a clear indicator that the exclusively American obsession with driving has gone too far and needs to stop. Only in the USA do people have the cultural expectation that everyone must hold a driving licence and own a car. My wife and I both live car-free and have no difficulty living our everyday lives. The only challenge we face is hatred from car-addicted American suburbanites. Please educate yourselves by watching the channels RMTransit, Oh the Urbanity!, Alan Fisher, and City Beautiful. Real grown-ups realise the truth that being an adult does not have to centre on one's ability to operate a metal pod on wheels and fit the suburban stereotype.
