Tell you what mate, I’ve watched a lot of video,s on this ridge since I did it many years ago, but yours is by far the best one I’ve seen. All the rest seem for reason to miss out the real difficulties along the ridge but yours was very detailed…..thanks it was a brilliant reminder of that day.

Great video and cinematography! Just one thing to be aware of is that the wide angle lenses on these cameras make the ridges appear more exposed than they really are (although the exposure IS real) The ridge is not a problem in dry conditions and if you are a reasonably experienced walker you should be fine. You still need to take it seriously though as it will find you out if you have a real fear of heights.

@@hikingwithfrank315 Yes having clambered over myself I thought you did really well. Was you camera chest mounted? The footage looked pretty steady unlike a lot of scrambling videos where the camera is head mounted, those tend to make me dizzy as the persons head is moving all over the place. For sure anyone wondering what the scrambly bits are like then your video certainly gives a very good idea.

Great vid. I can remember so many points on the ridge from when I did it in 90. After finishing Uni I had been working as a roof tiler to earn some cash and after 6 weeks was fit as a flea and had no fear of heights. So glad I did it then as looking at the vid, I just don't think I could anymore just due to the exposure. Have to say, some of your bum slides were making me very nervous.

Brilliant lads, well done 👏 Great vid Frank. I normally have my top tied around ma waist but I widnae be doing it on the AE like Alistair. 😂. Like you, I got to the 1st Munro around 7 years ago. It had been raining night before so it was slippy. Couple of hill runners said it was too & others turned back. Plus I was hungover with nae sleep from the Clachaig. We bailed & me & Robin headed over to the Corbett. Defo need to do it on a good day tho. 😎

The most annoying thing is the guy's red jacket hanging off his bag, swinging about, draging on the rocks. That could have caused an accident at any time. Why? Just put it in your bag. No way would I trust anyone like that to take me over a ridge like that. Other than that, cracking footage Frank.

@@dawnmason2378 guess everyone has their views on things. Alistair felt ok with his hoody hanging loose and it wouldn’t have caused an issue if it snagged as it wasn’t tied to his bag. I had 100% faith in Alistair taking me over, no issues whatsoever. Thanks anyway Dawn, I’m glad you liked the vid overall.👍

@@hikingwithfrank315thanks Frank, I've never had an issue with my hoodie catching on anything in all the years I've walked with it looped through the strap. I'll keep Dawn's opinion in mind on any future adventures. Adios!

@@mountainallan7470 thanks Allan, was a superb day.☀️🏔 Yeh my boots are Mescalitos, I love them. Had them for a good few years now so the soles are needing replaced. I only bring them out for scrambles like this as they are very grippy and comfy. I used them on the Skye Cuillin Ridge as well and they were fantastic. If I can’t get them resoled I’ll buy another pair. Thanks again ATB Frank

@@hikingwithfrank315 I bought a pair last year but haven't had the chance to use them yet. There are a few English and Welsh routes that I want to try them out on before I head up for Aonach Eagach, An Teallach, Liathach and the Forcan Ridge!

Fuc*^ng hell Frank , I'm 36 mins in and I'm nearly screaming at the TV to tell your guide to put the bloody hoody in his rucksack. I'm gonna have to say it, that doesn't give a good look for a professional guide to be carrying on like that. It was obviously warm enough just to stick it away and you even said to him about it as well. Anyway brilliant footage so far, just about to watch the rest of it

@@summitwithstevie6934 hi Stevie, Alistair is a friend not a professional guide, maybe when I said at the start Alistair was my guide it might have been a bit misleading people thinking he was a pro. He had done the ridge a couple times before and said he would take me over if I fancied it. The Hoodie was thru a strap on his rucksack and wasn’t causing any probs, even if it did snag it would have just pulled off his bag. Hi frank, wee quesion, think you were roped up on an teallach and liathach but not the AE, ive done the AE but not the other 2. Is the AE just easier or was it the conditions or just more at ease now ?????

@@chazzamaccoll1 hi Chazz, think it’s the latter, felt more at ease altho still a bit nervous at bits. An Teallach and Liathach are about the same, certainly not harder than AE. You’ll enjoy both when you do them, I’d keep them for a nice dry day tho.👍 Thanks again ATB Frank

When you have the confidence, capability and desire to do it then it becomes exhilarating. It helps when the scenery is this stunning also.🙂
