I experienced a similar spectacular flyover moment that "nobody" else saw. I was enjoying lunch at the plaza in Redwood Shores, CA during the early 2000s. I heard the familiar sound of WWII piston engines and saw the Collings Foundation B-24 bomber flyover. Then I saw the unmistakable outlines of a B-17 flying over. Then it was followed by B-29 "FIFI" flying over. It was only for a few minutes, but a few people appreciated that show! I have seen the PB4Y-2 up close and fly in formation with the FIFI, Witchcraft and Yankee Lady at the Thunder Over Michigan shows. Kermit Weeks toured it and the funny comment he made was that it even had its own cafe with tables and seating. 14:24

Watched planes from Selfridge Field in Michigan go on training flights over our home during WWII... So many memories.

Thank you for sharing this. It's such a disappointment that the event got weathered out, but your beautiful footage helps take a bit of the sting out of it.

God bless these heroes who fought back for our democratic republic. I pray their sacrifice is never taken for granted, and we never forget how easily the Germans lost their country to lies, violent intimidation, and authoritarianism. 2 weeks later edit: we might've forgotten...

What a fantastic program! It is why I fly because of those heroic patriots of the greatest generation.

Was great to be apart of the effort to fly. Wish more of the footage was used since not all our planes were shown.

I remember a PB4Y2 flying out of Coeur d’Alene as a retardant bomber. Covered with polka dots at the time. Contracted with IPNF. Dad was crew member in a B-24 in a flyover at Washington. FDR’s funeral.

Why don’t you go tell Franklin Roosevelt that he misspoke when he coined the phrase Arsenal of Democracy.

Amrican Modelers Association members will have to have a PILOT's license because of a Republican Senator. Maybe you should cover that.
@peterk24554 жыл бұрын
Confused by every model plane operator calling themselves a pilot. Add in the new batch of drone 'pilots' creating more incidents and its no wonder more legislation is their answer. Self regulation might have helped.
@bingnowtv4 жыл бұрын
Sepulveda basin rc airfield right next to Van Nuys Airport needs some self regulation. Those club owners must not get too many people to join & know the rules. Van Nuys is catches & calls in way to many ceiling violations. Passenger Aircraft with passengers & RC Jets & Drones with no respect? That's what we're thinking about Junior! The Republican Senator is listening and responding in kind to idiots that break the rules of common sense every day.
