Wow! Thank you for such a well shot and well told story…I’ve always loved the Iditarod and watched and read all sorts of stories about it. But I’ve never had the privilege of learning that much about the IAF. Thank you for sharing this and I agree with someone who commented above…I could’ve watched 2 more hours of it 👏👏👏

This was simply put... Awesome! I really hope your team (to many to mention) gets the recognition it deserves for an amazing story. This is why I love Dogs, Alaska and my little Piper Cherokee. Thank you again for putting this together and so very well done.

Excellent Video! Good writing, good interviews, good info, and enjoyable! Well done and produced. (To be straight up, I think AOPA vids have been, and gotten, so PC for quite a while now, that I don’t usually watch them anymore, or just cringe and take what I can from them on occasion.) A pleasant surprise and a step in the right direction. Good job Alicia, Jamal, & Chris! Keep it up! (PS I’m not referring to ASI vids, which are always excellent!)

Would have liked to learn a little bit more about the race itself, but by and large this is a very interesting little documentary, very well produced!

Great video! Why no helicopters? Too expensive?

That’s a great question. Speed, range, useful load and poor weather conditions usually benefit fixed wing planes but I’d imagine the biggest determining factor is indeed the operating costs.

Did he say 1000 lbs of dog food for each dog for 10 days? Thats 100 lbs a day! How and when can they eat that much? 😳
@shellysilverberg41866 ай бұрын
The dogs eat about 10,000 calories per day. Truly amazing!

Yup! Each dog consumes 12,000 calories per day. The foods consist of high fats like lard mixed in with their stew. Super athletes!

I think he miscalculated the amount per dog. There are about 1000 dogs in the race. That's 50 pounds per dog.
