The only thing that made no sense to me was Eren suddenly simping for Mikasa when he showed nothing but family love for her so far and the Worm-kuns whole story, beginning and end. But, while it may not have been the most desired ending, it was totally realistic. You cannot expect an averagely smart and totaly traumatized teenager to plan 4-5 years without any flaws whatsoever ahead perfectly. He did his best and what he did created a new hope. The torch was passed onto his friends. The extra pages however..they too made sense, but i only felt dread. Poor Eren, even the chance he created has been wasted by human degeneracy

@@smittywerbenjaggermanjensen69 Yeah, I kind of agree that Eren loving Mikasa felt out of nowhere. There was foreshadowing for it (such as when they were hiding out in Marley and how Mikasa was the biggest piece of Eren’s memories in the paths, not to mention the last episode of S2.), however, it was a bit too subtle for us to see. Hopefully, they’ll execute it in a much more clarified and more extended way in the anime.

This has to be one of my favorite AMV's ever. You captured Eren's character in the most spectacular manner possible. It's like if you were told to do a character analysis as an assignment, and did the assignment to its utter perfection. I love how you added Armin's quote about someone whose willing to change the world must be willing to sacrifice what they love most because that's what I'm always referencing back to when I explain Eren's complexity to my friends. Another thing was how well you added Pixis saying that in order to unite nations at war a greater threat must be created and that's so goddamn amazing because that's exactly Eren's plan. Props to everything in the video I can't praise just how well you did Eren's character. I'm astonished. I will be showing this to all my friends. You managed to explain who Eren is to the exact dot.

It also integrates his friends who are shocked at what he becomes, even though they are the ones who told him to be this way and encouraged him to let go of his humanity. It's like Erwin, Levi says that we should forgive Erwin because he became a devil because he had to and that they put him up to it. Then after Erwin dies, Eren takes on the same role as the devil who will 'save humanity.' Manga spoilers: It brings a whole new meaning to s3 ep18, where they are essentially debating who we need to save humanity, someone like Erwin, a devil, or someone like Armin, a hero. The story leads you into thinking that Floch is right, and we need the devil, when in fact the person who saves the world is Armin, who takes the role as the hero of the story after Eren's moral sacrifices. So many small-scale scenes from the show and manga serve as premonitions for the actual ending of AoT, even all the way back in the first season when Eren's friends die because he doesn't step in. Considering Eren's goals (although this is debated) are essentially to save his friends by whatever means necessary, the death of Levi squad serves as an example of how things could have played out if Eren did not attack Marley. It's not that Eren knows how everything will play out after he kisses Historia's hand, he tells us that in the final chapters, but in his head he has seen what happens when he doesn't intervene... his friends die. Therefore its his own choice to step in, that future is already in place, the horrifying thing is, is that he sees what he will eventually do to his father and to innocent people in pursuit of saving his friends.
@danyah39242 жыл бұрын
@@lewiswarburton1262 Thank you! Another person that gets it. This is so accurate everything you said does in fact play a monumental role in the development of not just the story but Eren’s character. So many AoT fans praise Isayama for incorporating small pieces of foreshadowing from the beginning of the story that show up later at the end and that’s amazing but it’s also forgotten how much he gave away about the characters if you read between the lines. I love how you mentioned Armin and Erwin being a metaphor for a hero and the devil because Armin was humanity’s savior like Eren had screamed out back in the episode where they had to choose. So many people just let Eren’s character amount to being a genocidal maniac but his character is not about that all. You most definitely understand Eren’s character!

@@MrM9819 Spoiilers below It gets a little weird when talking about seeing the future, and if its really freewill or fate. But Eren saw the future based on the result of Mikasa's choice. He didn't know what her choice would be but he wanted that future (removing the curse of the titans/rumbling to save paradise) so he moved forward. That was his freewill. He went with "the flow" as he put it to achieve that future. Eren wanted to be with Mikasa and everyone else but he had to sacrifice all of that and be the bad guy for the sake of everyone else's freedom (Armin's quote about those that can't sacrifice anything can't change anything works well here I think). He is just so incredibly well written. One of the greatest main characters of all time idc what anyone says. His transition from protagonist to antagonist is nothing short of masterful. And the fact that it was done so seamlessly and made sense? That's what makes it so epic. He is neither evil nor he is good. He is a character that seems to have changed a lot but at the same time not change at all, because he has always remained true to himself, who he is at his core never changed. His enemies, the direction of the path he was in, the world as he knew it changed. Not him. Isayama is an absolute genius and Eren is his best character.

That’s how Eren found out about what he had to do, but there were still stuff he didn’t know about, such as the Warhammer’s remote operation. Eren, the man who gave up everything, literally everything for a cause he thought was right. He was a slave, a slave to his memories, to the future and to his legacy. He did what he had to do, that's how he saw it. Also, good shit for using the rumbling instrumental

Eren adds to my tragic hero list, the other is Leluoch T.T I don't know but this version hits me harder than the actual trailer, also I'm happy how this video showed Eren both as a savior and also a demon from people's view of him, and Eren here showed how human he is, both showed his anger, determination, even his scared thought, I like this version, hope to see how Isayama see this :D

When you really pause to think about it, there’s no such definitive thing as good or bad. The show has proven that multiple times, when characters act as they believe is best even if it requires doing what others would class unforgivable. Eren is no different. Though he knows that what he’s doing is unforgivable and there is no going back from it, he still forges forward. He believes that destroying a large portion of the world is the only way to ensure the Eldians’ safety, and while mass murder is never okay in no way, shape, or form, I understand where he’s coming from. The Eldians have been humanity’s enemy for centuries. Even knowing how many people hate him and disapprove of his actions, I firmly stand by Eren Jaeger. ‘Hero’ or ‘villain,’ he is a truly tragic character, one that has been brilliantly written and brought to life.
