There it is finally. For those who don't know, i'm a huge fan of Attack On Titan, and especially of Eren Yeager, which is probably one of my favorite character in any anime. After that wonderful season we got, i just had to finally make a tribute for him, as season 4 was decisive for Eren, his complexity and his evolution.
I hope that you will appreciate this video, it's the first time i edit anime so i apologize if there's any mistake, i'm not used to edit anime like that, but i hope it's enjoyable!

Eren Yeager truly is a tragic character. In one day he looses everything even this childhood. Gets to be trained as a soldier from young age, sees his friends and fellow soldier's dying. His closes friends betrayal and towards the end his dream gets twisted. All of it started with a boy who wanted to see the splendour's of the world. A truly tragic story.

@@genghiskhan7691 Oh aren’t you edgy. How should it have ended then? Seriously? Please enlighten me with rational endings to each character, theme, and plot that would be better. It seriously makes total sense and provided a solid feeling of closure for someone who has a normal amount of chromosomes. Isayama can’t make everyone happy, but frankly Stockholm syndrome, Ymir’s truth, the real meaning behind the first episode of the series, it all makes sense to me and a genuine amount of other people that aren’t angry sweaty nerds. I swear it’s just a bandwagon thing to hate it. You all cried so hard it forced the poor man to release extra pages out of being so disappointed in people’s reactions... that’s just sad. @@rekzuh Me speaking the truth makes me edgy now? You going on a rant, defending this third-rate, deplorable ending makes you edgy and insecure. It's not a 'bandwagon thing' to hate the ending. Many like myself have perfectly good reasons to hate the it. There were so many plot holes, inconsistencies and characters retconned that you must have wondered whether Isayama wrote the final chapter. The extra pages were just the drastic effect of a poorly-executed and rushed finale. Yes, it made total sense that Ymir fell in love with the man who raped her, had her eyes gouged out and her tongue ripped out, even Stockholm syndrome can compensate for it. it made so much sense that AOT turned into a tragic romance/love of Ymir. I have created a much better ending than the one Mr. Clown wrote. If you're not interested then read the fan one, AnR, it's already a hundred times better.

@EuropeanAmericanAustralian& someAsiansArePerverts @anime geek lmfao, how about next time you ask me to clarify before you attribute meaning to my comments? I never said Levi carried the show. I never commented on how strong he is or anything of that nature. I am not a "fan" or a "stan" of either of these 2 characters. People who get way too involved in anime are weird. I said that he is a foil to Levi. That is all. And I said that because he and Levi are at odds right now, ESPECIALLY because Eren isn't a whiny little bitch anymore and he SEEMS just as cold and lifeless as Levi at times; meanwhile Levi is losing his patience and trust in Eren. They seem to be on equal footing strengthwise and in terms of the zealousness of their supporters and they're both using their cold demeanor to inspire people to different ends. And it makes for a very compelling story arc. Beyond that, idunno, maybe tune those people that you find annoying out? They seem to have gotten under your skin unnecessarily lol.

as a fictional character, he was the most human like character in the series. he went insane and lost his humanity after all the trauma he's gone through at a very young age. he lost almost all the people he cared about and had to see them dying before his eyes. the hope he was always hoping for is already fading and he now sees the world for how it is-very cruel. no normal person would have ever thought that not being born at all would be the greatest thing of all. he had to be in a very unhealthy state to realize that. i just think that his character was very amazing for how raw it is and isayama really did a great job on capturing it. eren will always be remembered for being the best character in anime for generations and im here for that

He was capping when he said that. Just playing into his half brother's wishes. Eren at his core is selfish. He's believes he was born, and with his birth SHOULD have came his freedom. Because he saw he wasn't free (exactly what he defined as freedom isnt qyite clear to me - was it crossing the walls and seeing the sea, was it wiping oit his enemies, or was it having an empty and boundless world for him to enjoy with his loved ones - very flawed subtly narcisstic man), he couldn't quench his thirst for it and ultimately started the rumbling.

My thought is that Erens fight for freedom never stopped. We don't know how many futures eren saw or how many "paths" he had to choose from. Eren saw the future of chapter 139 and that was his path to follow. That was his choice. Eren knew that the only way to achieve freedom for his friends, his people, the love of his life, was to sacrifice his own freedom and his own life. That is beautiful to me and is such a tragic story. The attack titan strives for freedom no matter what era it finds itself in. Ending the power of titans(which was his main goal from day 1) and giving freedom to the island is what Eren always strived for. Mikassa and Eren even got to live out 4 years together in the "memory" or "path" he showed her. He got to visit and see the world with Armin in his "memory". Eren trusts the person he always knew would be the one to save humanity(Armin). I think the only scene that seemed out of character was eren having a romantic breakdown about mikass but even Armin told him how pathetic that response was and Eren instantly realized it too(might get cut in the anime idk). I would have liked to see more of Ymir and what the hell the founder alien thing even was but I think having a few plotholes is expected for ANY story. I think too many people are so wrapped up in their "chad Eren" phase that they aren't seeing the bigger picture. Eren won. He achieved his goals and can now rest in piece. All though he didn't want to die, neither did Willy Tybur, neither did 80% of the population. But this was the cost of freedom. Eren Jager, a man fighting for freedom, having to sacrifice his own freedom and choosing to be a slave for the ones he loves. Thank you AOT for bringing me one of the most enjoyable and breathtaking story's I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

@@blackblue0613 he may not have fully believed in it, but it was the only choice. The only thing left for him to do was to “keep moving forward” the attack titan strives for freedom. Eren still made the choice to follow through with the path that was shown to him.

@@XxDomesticPieXx I was an Eremika shipper but I disliked Eren's attitude towards Mikasa so much that I just don't ship them anymore. I hope the anime changes that stupid dialogue of "I don't want her to be with another man" to "I lover her and want to be with her but that selfish desire of mine only brings her more suffering" like that line of dialogue was so stupid Idk who forced Isayama to write that. Also why was Ymir Fritz and that crazy King paralleled with Eremika. It just made it sooo toxic
@XxDomesticPieXx
@XxDomesticPieXx 3 жыл бұрын
@@nazaninali5418 I also think that line was pretty out of character for eren but I do believe in their relationship. Their have been plenty of scenes hinting at erens true feelings for her. As to the parallel for king fritz/Ymir and Eren/Mikassa, I don’t believe the parallel is bad at all. Ymir was a slave her whole life until the day she died. It’s a sort of Stockholm syndrome in which she began to fall for her oppresser and couldn’t break free of the chains that bound her even with her godlike powers. Mikassa and erens relationship was similar in that regard. Mikassa has always loved Eren but even with her godlike Ackerman powers, she was a slave to her dna with Eren being her “master”. Unlike Ymir though, Mikassa was able to make the choice to break free of chains and kill Eren, the one she loves most in this world. This action sets Ymir free as its almost like she saw the choice she never made and what led her to being trapped for 2000 years. Eren also spent 4+ years with Mikassa as a couple in the “memory” or “path” that Eren showed using the founders ability. He knew Mikassa would kill him and everything he did to hurt her was for that purpose. I’m just happy they got to live at least some different life together. I have a lot more thoughts on the ending but these are just my points on those 2 topics.
@nazaninali5418

@@XxDomesticPieXx The only obvious hints of Eren being romantic have been his blushing telling them all in wagon that they are important to him and he exchanged a glance with Mikasa and asking what am I to you. thats it. Idk man I really hoped Eremika's love story was done better. They were my fav love story of all time 🥲 But RN I just dislike Eren's abusive attitude towards her so much. (what was the point of Eren calling her a slave during table scene? was he just projecting himself?? if so thats so petty) I even really liked chapter 138 even that dream Eren seemed more in character with our Eren than the Eren we got in this chapter. I think chapters 137-139 should have been 10 chapters so it would seem more consistent and we would have explanation for (Mikasa's headaches, the worm, Ymir's actual reasoning, Armin trying to achieve world peace by negotiating, possibility of different timelines and how they work) I am still grateful and thankful for Isyama and I hope he rests after giving us so many amazing chapters but I still hope he changes the the last three chapters in order to make it consistent and leave no plotholes. Also Zeke completely debunked Ackermans having a host. The only reason Mikasa cares about Eren so much its only due to love chapter 130 confirmed that. Its no master/slave thing thats why I disliked it being compared to Ymir Fritz and King. Mikasa has condemned Eren's actions so many times before

2:54 It's subtle but at that moment you could tell Eren had compassion for that Titan. Especially after he had learned the truth of this world. Very much like him these Titans had their freedom taken away and forced to live out an endless unconscious dream like state. Even after all he has done in the manga there are many Yeagerist sympathizer readers still hoping for Eren... His character progression amazes me till this very day. Edit: I take it all back....😂

Yep, he tried so hard to fight for his own freedom and the freedom of others, but was blind to the fact that all of his actions would be in vain. If only he could see past his own death he’d have known this, but as it was often said in the story, this world is cruel. He’s a great example of a tragic protagonist; even with all of his power-the power of what many considered to be a god-the current of destiny proved to be even more powerful, recorrecting itself around his actions.

The way I see it, Attack on Titan's message is all about how knowing you live in a deterministic world would impact a person's psyche. It's way the protagonists road revolves so much around freedom, achieving it and what it means. In a way, no one in Attack on Titan is free, not because they are caged in a conflict of war, not because they are influenced by the memories of past Eldians, but because put simply, their fate is already written and there is nothing they can do about it, even if they know about it. Their fate is already defined, figuratively in the universe and literally in Isayama's mind. The perfect example of this is the fact the Attack Titan can seemingly see the future, hence why Kruger knew of Armin and Mikasa and why Eren dreams so much of things that have yet to happen. None of the characters are entitled to their choices because they were written to do what they do. And poetically, in a way, that makes Eren the most "free" character in the show. He has seen everything that awaits him going forward and knows, no matter what he does, or how he does it, it is bound to happen always the same way. He makes the conscious "choice" to be the one that sets himself on this road by influencing himself and others around him via the paths. He has accepted nothing can change the torture and pain he has gone and will continue to go through and becomes the cause of the events in his life. In a world where everyone's fate is written from before they are even born, only the man who knows this, and willingly follows the path set out for him, can be truly free.
