lol at Chris being offended by the parried axe. I Parry Everything really did turn out to be that “This should be generically bad but turned out to be good” show of the season. Along the lines of Vending Machine Isekai or The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic.

the nobody's way to an exploration hero was so different from the manga. Sylphy's first attack destroyed a section of the dungeon, and it was closed down for repairs. and the devil card was a lot later coming. and there was a long fight between the two summon cards. there were other slime and goblin fights that gave him trouble with sylphy. and her barrier, was only up when she held her breath. so, she could only keep it up for as long as she could hold her breath. it was like a very watered-down anime.

I really like Shoushimin and think of it as an underrated work of art. Even so, I can completely get why this show wouldnt click for some. As someone who watched Hyouka, I had to remind myself that this is how Hyouka was in the first episode after watching the first two episodes of Shoshimin. The first episode of Hyouka was that the MC trying to figure out why a door to a classroom was locked when obviously a teacher should have a master key and why these girls keep borrowing the same book for weeks. However, the charm of this show while it is a mystery show was never about the mysteries themselves. If you come into either of these shows to be swept up by the mystery then clearly you're going to be disappointed because both Hyouka and Shoshimin aim to slowly add layers to its characters - the mystery exists to discover the characters and unravelling and challenging their ideologies. For Shoshimin it was being ordinary and Hyouka it was the beauty of youth. I wont deny that the first arc of Shoshimin ended in an anti-climactic way but to be honest despite my mixed feelings on that arc I felt that it was too early for a big reveal with Yuki and therefore it was being saved for a later arc so for me it wasnt too disappointing as long as it paid off by the end of the season and it delivered in the final act. From episode 6 to 10 is where the show really hit its stride in its storytelling of these characters and portraying who they really are. I think people had certain expectations of Shoshimin that never were there lol and were just simply disappointed when the show was not what they had in mind. I think that while Hyouka delivered that charm alot better in the same length of 10 episodes than Shoshimin did. Im sure that once Shoshimin gets another season the charm of the show will be cemented.

You are missing out if you've skipped Yatagarasu: The Raven Does not Choose Its Master. Great story with a lot of twists that even I, a jaded Oldtaku, couldn't see all of them. Music and animation are good as well. Hopefully a s2 but doubtful with no one covering it. I too thought Bye Bye Earth was intriguing but disjointed. Needed a little more world building but i was a bit lost by the last episode for why some things were or weren't happening. I enjoyed I Parry Everything. Unexpectedly good visuals and animation. MC's thickness did get a little on my nerves but overall worth the HiDive price (well, that and getting caught up on all of Danmachi and rewatching The Dangers in My Heart)

@@nakerusa This second half of Yatagarasu was so good. I enjoyed both the old man OP hero animes this season: I Parry Everything and Ossan Newbie Adventurer.

You forgot to mention that in Pseudo Harem they actually do get married. How many anime do that in one season?

They covered the whole manga in one series... And didn't cut much because a lot of the manga was fluff lol.

Dead Dead Demon fell off a cliff with the last episode. Just watch episode 1-16 and you will have an amazing series. Skip episode 0 and 17.

Yeah I got confused. I read online you have to watch episode 0 before watching episode 16 or 17.

@@Course6Beaver episode 0 helps you get into the anime because after episode 0 it’s a slow burn but still good tho

@@garrabella89 it’s a great series. But, the last two episodes were confusing for me. It took me a while to figure out where episode 0 fit in as I watched episode 0 first. Thinking about reading the manga now.
