What was the reasoning behind resembling to 1000 dpi. I understand the 300 dpi in Lightburn, but I don’t understand the reasoning for upscaling the image. I come from a printing background, and this sounds rather odd.

Hey there! We have found in testing that bringing the image up from 300 to 1000 DPI helps retain a lot of the detail that normally gets lost when transferring the image from Corel/Photoshop to Lightburn. With lasers, you need all the detail you can get in an image. :)

how much the height between slate to laser head ?? please tech me the focus head adjustment? and which is better image mode for slate engraving with jarvis or without jarvis mode

Hey there! The height needed between the slate and the laser head will depend on what size lens you are using. If you have one of our machines, you should receive a focus stick with your lens that will help you measure exactly the space needed between the lens and the material you are engraving. Please call our tech support for more information, if needed. Jarvis is always a good go-to for photos when using LightBurn for engraving. We have a newer video (engraving a photo on glass) that goes over this more in detail. :) I hope this information is helpful! Our tech support is always open 24/7/365 for our customers, should you have any additional questions.

unfortunately this video really doesn't teach in terms of stating what makes a good picture to engrave. Lots of "im just going to to this..." or "we're going to change this to jarvis"...but never an explanation of why or what that change actually did to make it a better sample.

Hey there! Thank you so much for your feedback - this is something we are working on improving with our new how-to tutorial videos. Because we were limited on time during our livestreams, we weren’t able to go into as much detail as we would have liked to.
