Sedikit koreksi mobil yang terbang di Le mans itu CLR sedangkan yang jadi caption itu sebenarnya CLK GTR. CLK GTR dibuat sama mercedes buat ikut kelas GT1 tahun 1997 dimana mobilnya harus punya versi legal di jalan, mesin yang dipakai V12. Tahun 1998 Mercedes buat penerus CLK GTR yaitu CLK LM, bedanya sama CLK GTR adalah mesinnya di ganti dengan V8 dan aerodinamika yang sedikit berbeda. Nah 1999 Mercedes buat CLR buat ikut kelas GTP dimana kelas balap ini adalah mobil prototype jadi gk perlu buat mobil versi legalnya. Mesin yang dipakai sama seperti CLK LM tapi bentuk mobilnya jauh berbeda. Nah pada tahun 1999 mobil ini terbalik sebanyak 3 kali di le mans. Sejak 1999 Mercedes gk pernah balik balapan mobil prototype sampai saat ini.
