Excellent video and a very ingenious way of using both levels of the foam.

How did you make the individual storage compartments in the foam? Is the foam made up of pre-cute cubes that you just remove, or is it a solid piece of foam that must be cut to the desired size for each component?
@BlueRose55884 жыл бұрын
He used an utility knife to cut a square in the foam then, very carefully, picked and cut the square out to make the compartment.

@@BlueRose5588 Thank you. That's what I thought. There are other cases that have pre-cut pieces that you just remove to obtain the opening you need and you can then tailor them via a utility knife if necessary to the shape of the specific object you're wishing to store..Those are a little less time consuming.

Good video, thanks for sharing! One note of caution; be a little careful "doubling up" by using the plastic laminate in between. The potential problem I see is that you may not have enough padding between the upper and lower sections (depending on how the items are arranged, there might be little more than the plastic between them, which could result in them damaging eachother if the case gets handled roughly, or is jostled hard in the back of a vehicle, etc.). Also, there may not be enough padding under the lower section, depending on how deep you cut out the lower foam. Have you had any issues so far? If so, perhaps glueing a thin layer of denser foam to the bottom of the plastic laminate sheets would help isolate the layers, and not coring too deeply into the bottom foam (or add a thin, dense foam sheet on the very bottom, against the bottom of the case).

I don't care about the components but I finally got the the good part. You told how you formed the foam. I have a camera and lenses I need to store safely. The clear plastic on the bottom of the layers is a great idea. Grainger

How did you make that resin bottom? Nd did it work?
@UrbanSleepersOfficial5 жыл бұрын
TheWalkinGiant I used a laminator at home to laminate several sheets to themselves to make a thick plastic layer. Then I cut it to the size of the foam layer and used a hot glue gun to stick the plastic sheet to the foam layer. It’s held up really well so far. It’s still working and holding that top layer together up to this day.

Broooo! You’re the best! Thank you for the quick response! I’m going to look around today for a laminator Nd the same for my case! Thank you so much for your helpful videos and responses, keep up the good work!

I’m wondering the same thing! Wondering about humidity too! I have 2 sitting in the foam in their original cases, but they aren’t tightly sealed like this case. So I was thinking about transferring them to something like this until I can get an actual safe 😅
