Even though I don't know you, I also give you give you my condolences. Recently did a DNA test due to all the supernatural and spiritual phenomena throughout my life and currently. It says Native American Florida. But I am very much convinced that my grandmother whom I loved dearly,was Apache. That she was very closely related to Geronimo. How can I look further into that and obtain tribal recognition?

I’m so sorry about your sister. Myiu will find whit surnames, but it is 2023 and DNA can only separate Indigenous South, Ventral and North American DNA. Someone has told you a tale. But more importantly, just be who you are and keep sending love to your sister.
@genghis_connie Жыл бұрын
@@calinative5302just a heads up. Two years later (2023) indigenous North, Central and South American DNA has been separated - but not by tribe. Siberian and Asian DNA is usually part of it, but around 20,000 years on this continent had made it much easier. DNA still does not make someone NDN. It’s history and culture and family. Be well.

Thank you so much Sonny ⚘ Many good signs and blessings since he passed. Thls has drawn my whole Chiricahua family closer, and also back into the old medicine. They are tracing their ancestry and applying for tribal enrollment. Also the Apache community has embraced the oldest son and invited him to take his father's place as medicine person for that Lipan band in San Angelo, TX. The grief is real. But he would knowingly have offered his own life and happiness to benefit the people like this. And I do believe ... he did. ⚘

I wish I knew my tribe, but my grandfather was the only one who had any idea what his tribe is, but we lost his mind to Alzheimer's and eventually he passed away altogether. All we know is he was Apache while a close ancestor on my grandmother's side was Tarasco while the rest of her blood was mexican. The only connection we've had to our native blood is a close family friend who is Navajo and would sometimes tell stories with my mom, but she moved away when I was young.

I want to begin the process of learning about my native heritage and reconnecting with my ancestoral lineage but I feel as though it is not my place because I was not raised around it and because I do not look native as I am fair skinned. Hello brother, I come from the Mescalero Apache, I know the feeling as I grew up out of my reservation as my family had left the reservation. The key to going back to your roots is to keep faith in your roots, stay strong and try and find as much information as you can . I travel to my reservation and take on the scenery and appreciate the surroundings. I also practice our rituals and I try my best to stay strong to the faith of our people. I wish you luck on your journey and that my little information was helpful.
