Thanks for the video. Love those Sunsets! We are actually looking to find a place as an invest/ retirement. Worried .those gringo prices.. I see you don't wear a watch. Security an issue over there. should we leave our watches and wedding bands home?

The sunsets in Santa Marta are gorgeous. One of the best things. In general in all of Latin America, and definitely Colombia, I’d advise against wearing any jewelry or forms of affluence. It could increase your risk of getting robbed- ESPECIALLY in the evenings/night. I wear all of my oldest/cheapest clothing and the most affluent stuff I wear is my gym clothes only because I bought them all in Canada/USA. And only during the day. That being said, Santa Marta feels safer than Barranquilla, which feels safer than Cartagena, or especially than Medellin or Bogotá.

Are air fryers common in Colombia? If so, are they expensive compared to U.S. prices?

No. They aren’t. We’ve only had 1 apartment from airbnb that had an air fryer. Out of 10. Even ovens and microwaves aren’t a guarantee on the coast, either. It’s about 50/50 chance. Unless you’re renting higher end. To buy an air fryer you’re looking at $50 USD for a cheap smaller one on sale, and upwards of $100+ for one at a bigger retailer like Éxito. In general it’s comparable or a bit more
