The water from washing your hands is used to flush the toilet, so it saves water

I guess that makes sense, but then why put a whole other sink outside the bathroom that doesn't do that?!

And here in Norway youd be paying 800$ at least for a 40m² basement without furniture. Any of these appartments in the video would run you over $2000 here.

The sink on the back of the toilet is an actual thing in most Japanese homes. It’s a really cool concept. You wash your hands and the grey (used) water becomes the toilet water. Unfortunately, in that first apartment there was no full sink in the vicinity of the bathroom.

Not only japan , it's pretty normal in many countries, you need to wash ur hand after you are done doing your business ,so it's more convenient and cleaner than going all the way to sink ,I was surprised that she has never seen one living for so long in China

@@fatisummer9106 I also love the concept. However, it is not a U.S cultural norm. I think the KZbinr is from the U.S, so she is basing her likes on her own experiences (what she grew up with). Getting used to cultural norms is nuanced, some things are just not going to fly, LOL

The climate in Chengdu is very humid, the owner of houses generally do not prepare thick mattresses because the waiting process for rent takes a long time. In uninhabited appartments, mattresses are prone to mold. That's why you can only see thin mattresses everywhere@@AleeseLightyear

Furniture and fixtures are relatively inexpensive. So you can either ask the landlord for free upgrades and replace them by yourself. For example the bed and mattress would cost less than the monthly rent.

Before moving to or visiting another country, research. How people live, what's appropriate and inappropriate. Idk, maybe it's just me, but it's embarrassing to see Americans go to other countries and insult/question the way life is there or call something weird. As if the way we live makes a lot of sense😅.

Wow, as a real estate agent myself, sis, sometimes it’s best to keep opinions to yourself until the end of a showing-unless this was done for views, because these days, you never know! In NY, we have feedback cards at the end for clients to fill out about how the house or apartment was viewed. If not, you can email or discuss with the agent after the showing. But ouch, you were stepping on the cutie man’s toes! My thought was, was he taking notes on you or what to bring back to his clients or the listing agent? That said, you did ask for the good, the bad, and the luxury, so what you’re getting is exactly that! Just my two dollars and ten cents. Either way, I’m glad you’re not homeless! Just my thoughts.
