That apartment is lovely and I think the kitchen is also great. Once you get your own stuff in there and make it your own you'll love it. I get the sunshine thing but at least the apartment is light and bright. I'm so happy that you can now settle into a neighbourhood. Wonderful news and I can't wait to see how it all looks once you get settled.

Yeah!! So happy for you guys! The new apartment will be a live changer for any sort of anxiety you may have experienced! Like you said: now comes the fun part! Furniture wise, maybe you want to go for a bunk bed for the kids, even Clara is still little? My two girls are sharing a tiny room and it’s just so convenient space wise and also cute to look at, with all the fairy lights and stuff… Have a lovely, lovely weekend! Vancouver looks amazing 🤩 😍! Kia Kaha! 😘😘😘

I’m late to this video. I just want to say welcome. Stable supportive housing is critical as a base to help us thrive. I’m so sorry (for all of us in the popular west coast cities) that the cost of housing is so very high. Some Canadians are profiting handily, where they rent homes they purchased prior to 2010. And many many are hurting because of it. Also, I understand fully the difficulties of living in a basement….ugh. You are not alone. Keep loving one another ☺️☺️

The same rental stress happening in Canada is also happening in Australia and as I watch a lot o you tube from the U.S. and U.K. the same thing is happening there also......It would take too much time to explain here but a lack of rental properties has to do with interest rates going up across The Western World......In my country families often have to move from one rental property to another every year so MY BIGGEST TIP is only buy light or foldable furniture such as a baby potacot that can be used as a cot, playpen and a change table. Light couch, your double bed on a base that can be dissasembled.

Yay! So pleased that you've found a place to live :) As a wild uneducated guess, I reckon there's probably some correlation between cities that are rich enough to have a professional orchestra, and cities where the cost of housing is painful. Vancouver looks gorgeous - I hope that the process of starting to settle in goes more smoothly than the shift so far, and you can start to breathe again.

Hopefully you'll feel a bit more settled once again for a while, being in a neighborhood you're comfortable with is probably one of the most important things. Don't mean to harp on about this bear subject, but at least if the hikes are usually pretty busy then there's more chance of someone else getting mauled, allowing you the opportunity to make a run for it. I've heard that you should carry something called "bear bells" when in bear country.
@Becca.Loveless
@Becca.Loveless Жыл бұрын
That’s true! We just have to be faster than the old people! I know a lot of people carry bear spray, but I feel that’s more of a placebo and peace of mind thing lol. I don’t know. My current plan is to never run into a bear. Do you think that’ll work?

Not really unfortunately! Everything is super expensive. We ended up renting a basement of a home where the tenants live upstairs. We honestly just kept searching every day through Craigslist and Facebook marketplace, seeing lots of different places, and even applied for a few. This place was the only one that accepted us.

If someone wants you to take your shoes off coming into their house, they will ask. Many people wear shoes in their home & don't care if visitors do as well. It's not disrespectful if they don't mind themselves. 🤦‍♀️

@@Megannicole-ve4qj wrong. 🤣 First off, I'm not American so..oops on your part for assuming. Secondly, not only have I been to Canada several times and this has never been the case but Canada is a very small part of the entire world and *shock* different places have different mentalities. Lastly, if you want to go back and re read my comment I said that it's not disrespectful for the person visiting to wear their shoes if the home owners themselves don't mind and if they'd like you to take your shoes off, they will ask. Just facts. So...looks like you were wrong all over, huh?🤣🤦‍♀️

Thank you for the feedback, this is a movie about looking at houses, I would do whatever the person showing the house would do, if they wore shoes then we would too. After living in NYC, you do not wear your shoes inside. It is very dirty. But while house hunting, most of these places are empty and will be cleaned after so many people come through anyways.
