Sad we have to feel like $2,300 is cheap for an apartment these days! You aren’t taking steps back, you’re stepping towards a better future. Someone who loves and appreciates you fully, and who values their family. You did not have that. I was a single mom for around 6 years. It’s beyond hard, but it gives you beautiful lessons. You learn to love yourself, enjoy your own company, which in turn prevents you from settling for less than what you deserve, because you learnt your worth. You’ll get there.

I feel the exact same way about living in my home town, I feel as though I am stuck in some form of a time capsule and can't truly move forward. That's why I plan to save up as much as I can over the next year to move closer to where my boyfriend is from, to have a fresh start away from a place that I associate with a lot of trauma in my life. Glad you made the choice that is the best for your mental wellbeing, the apartment is gorgeous!

Oscar, I don't know if you thought of it, but here goes a quick tip, just for safety reasons: consider changing your shelf with the wine glasses higher in the wall cause the kids may be playing/running in the living room and bump into them and get hurt... just for safety reasons, it looks great tho :) love the video, as always

I did the same thing when moving into my first apartment. Decided to go for a little bit more expensive of a place but it was so worth it in the end. It’s so nice for the mind to come home to a place that you love that is bright and welcoming. I think you made the right choice :)

Thanks for bringing us along. Don’t beat yourself up so hard, it’s really only $400 more than the cheapest apartment and you truly, hands down loved it more than the others. But yeah, definitely encourage you to buy if you can because when moving time comes you’ll likely see some equity from that few Gs a month if you sell, or you could turn around and rent. Apartments are cool if you know everything that homeownership comes with isn’t for you. Otherwise, in todays market, with the rate of real estate appreciation, even short term stays make it a better financial option. Love to see how good you’re doing. You’ve come a long way from that first apartment in Montana was it? Idk, I don’t remember but when Levi was a little baby 😍

Average rent in my city is $1000 a month. Would it not be financially smarter to buy a home at your cost ? Or a fixer upper that could turn into a house flip or future rental income. 🤔 Or RV/Bus living seems so cool, especially since you enjoy traveling. But that's a whole other topic 😂

This took me back to the first video I ever watched of you. I believe it was back in 2017 or 2018 (Not sure if Alaya was already born or about to be born, I don't remember). If you are able to afford to buy, I think it's better if you buy than rent. Nothing beats ownership of a house, especially if you have kids. Renting solves your present housing problem, but owning cements your future

@@JF-gy7tt I agree with you completely. More and more political gaslighting about making rents more affordable, almost none about pushing banks into providing loans for house ownership. In my country, we pay 800 euros for 55 square metres, but the bank does not want to give us loans so we could pay 800 euros mortgage for something we would own and pass on to our descendants so they don't have to struggle as we did. Acting blind to the fact that we had been paying this amount for years and years just to have basic security - roof above our heads. That's why those who are lucky enough to afford buying should definetely buy. We must not forget that ownership is first step to independence and pursuit of happiness. It really is sad world that's become :( I wish you the best and hopefuly you are safe, independent and happy, and if not, that you soon become.

Wow so expensive to live there. I'm from UK and a 3 bed house is between 600-1500£ depending on the area. London is very expensive but other than that you can find decent prices. Also here we get free medical care(you pay taxes so not entirely free) I had 2 c section and didn't have to pay a penny.

Those costs are crazy, but I understand that it's due to the area. For us our 1,050 sq ft house with 3 bedroom 2 full bath with fenced in yard, and an unfinished basement plus driveway.... Is $505 a month 🙈 Yes that's the mortgage payment which is usually a bit cheaper than renting, but in our area this size house for rent would go for 900 about

There are advantages and disadvantages for both renting and buying. I feel that at this time in your life you are doing exactly what is best for you and your family, so try not to think about it too much. With that said, it's crazy the different cost of living in different states. A 3,000 sq ft house with multiple acres of land for rent in NC is less than what you are paying for a 3 bdrm apartment.

Rentals are crazy expensive! Im in Canada not paying as much rent as any of these three places but still a ridiculous amount for the place I’m in.
