You look like my foreign teacher in elementary school. Speaking of him, I remember that Christmas he dressed up as Santa Claus and gave us candy at the school gate. He was a very competent teacher. I wish you better and better, Mr. Mike :D

You are def not the only one feeling this way when going through a gut renovation! I think April is optimistic. One of the tip I can share is always lower your expectation when it comes to timeline and cost. It will always end up taking longer and cost more!:) however end product will be good!:)

What is the need for decoration of those small broken houses, Mr. Mike's family should not hold too much hope. Doing the English series well, I dream of being as fluent in American English as anyone else.

You will be an expert after house decration finished. But then game is over. So we always say that decration is an art of regret.
Take it easy, as anyone who's ever renovated a house knows, it's not easy !

All this hardship in getting everything done , and done perfectly, by having to totally engage yourself in the whole process , is because of lack of trust between the client and remodeling company. without careful monitor, without having to make sure things turn out the way you want, you just can not afford to leave everything to the company, who may easily cutting corners. Though similarly a strenuous thing to do in Japan, I dont have to go monitoring the workers on the site and go to material market to make sure they wont give me the compromised goods. TRUST

shanghai's estate property price is very expensive, 50k - 100k RMB ( about 8k - 16k dollar ) per meter square, shanghai has most advanced medical, education resources, a lot of foreign and demestic companys and job opportunities, convinient transport, air poluted not as bad as other area in china, although, i feel it is not worthy, people just have to accept it.

I feel sorry for those guys who spent tons of money on their apartment. I hope the house market will not collapse this year, otherwise it will be a disaster for many young families. The information for supply and demand of house market, it’s not transparent. It looks like people just want more and more houses. It is not only happening in China, it’s all over the world. Some Chinese buyers are just everywhere in the world, they buy and sell their properties, but they don’t really need them.People should find some other ways to put their deposit rather than always in the house market.
I finally saw Mr. Mike's hair planted in the video, Things that feel unreliable as soon as I hear them are really unreliable. Just buy it as a lesson, too bad, obviously got scammed.
Chinese won’t call it money burning. It is an investment for attracting future buyers

I am sure you have heard of diminishing returns. We all want a lovely place and Mike and his family seem to be doing it the smart way (not over spending for a lovely place) if anyone spends over what a place can sell for they have stopped investing in future sale price to over spend on lavish amenities. When markets reach the top of what the common worker can afford the market will adjust (Bubbles bursting) and prices on housing will fall. Over spending on remodels is common in every culture someone in the family must understand the market place and how finances work or it becomes very sad of the family.

Shanghai is a hyped up place with rieiculously over priced housing. Why the first Disney in China is build in shanghai instead of other cities, what on earth does shanghai contribute more than other cities in China.? Shanghai's prosperity is largely brought about by PRC's favorable policy. Simply put, shanghai only took a big cut from the cake instread of making the cake bigger

Holy shit my friend. You're still remodeling? Remodeling here in the US takes one month or less!
I'm very angry about learning English. Some British pronunciation, some American pronunciation. Last time a black man said two words to me in the supermarket, one little and one big, which means the pocket is too small, the black wants a big one. I have absolutely no idea what these two words mean because the pronunciation is totally different from what I learned. I thought about it for a long time, and the black man looked at me with disdain, thinking I was an idiot, or if I was playing tricks on him. It makes me very angry, I promise I am very angry. Also very painful.

very wrong decision right from the beginning... just think what you can get in the US for the same price, not to mention the instability of china's house market at the moment. once your son is school age, guess you wouldn't want him to be brought up in all the chinese propaganda, would you?
