Thanks for all your videos. I started as a grounds guy with very little experience 5 years ago. Now I've got some experience and became a valuable worker. I float to 8 different properties to help where its needed. I enjoy learning all the tricks you show on the channel. Hoping to move up to maintenance supervisor someday

I used to do apartment maintenance and had no idea that re-keying like that was possible. The complex I worked for just bought a whole bunch of deadbolts from a company at once keyed the same. That was cool.

You really know how to work smarter not harder. That's what I try to do at work. Gotta cover all your bases! I'm learning a lot from your videos...were those water restrictions in the fill valve? I've never seen that. Only used fluidmaster...

Tip: when you change the smart lock key you can push it one time and you can take it out until putting new key back in don’t have to hold the pin

I really enjoy you work. What was that thing (plug) that was in the water line to the toilet in the first part of the vid, that you removed? What is it's purpose? In another vid you made about vinegar in a glass in the top shelf of dishwasher was priceless. I sometimes put vinegar into dishwaher only to hear it drain out in the beginning of the cycle. So, thanks for the very helpful tip Cheers from S. CA.

Flow regulator/filter/stupid thing they put in to make you use less water. They clog and make your shower heads or sink faucets slow. I save people money all the time by simply removing those and using some clr.
@elegant60662 жыл бұрын
@@evanfurn920 Thanks for the info. I had put on a kitchen moveable areator on my faucet. Seemed low flow. Worst part was that there was a tamper proof restrictor which ended up messing up the backflow to the faucets and made leaks in the faucet under the sink. POOO!!!

Slight adjustment: the newer dishwashing detergents actually do break down foods which is kind of amazing (bless enzymes!) Technology Connections did a whole nerdfest on how dishwashers work and how prepackaged tablets aren't the best idea if you want optimal cleans as they don't do anything for the pre-wash.
@ApartmentMaintenancePro2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bliffle! Whatever was used here though, the leftover food in the strainer, did not get broken down at all 👍

Love technology connections. Having been through the problems that the pods create I hate them and this looks exactly like that. They really need that hot water to dissolve through the packaging and the compressed nugget of detergent. I tried all kinds of them before stumbling upon technology connections video about them. Or rather several videos on them and dishwashers.

I feel like every dishwasher is different. I read up on which soap is best for hard water & everything said powder soap. Maybe my problem was the brand I tried (cascade) which imo is 1 of the top 3. It sucked, I thought I was using too much so I scaled back & still had dirty dishes & white film. Changed to Finish Quantum packs & wow what a difference!! They're so freaking expensive though so when I run out I'm going to try Finish powder & if that don't work I'll try the tabs. I've heard ppl say they hate the Finish gel tabs though so I really think it has to do with the dishwasher. I had a repair man here for my dryer & asked what cleans lime & hard water deposits & he said put a small amount of Borax in with each load lol. No idea if that's legit, maybe some other's can chime in.
@evanfurn9202 жыл бұрын
@@Mandy_39 each dishwasher is certainly different but the principals they work on are the same. First thing that comes to mind is make sure the filter is clean if it has one after that's clean fill a small glass with white distilled vinegar and put it on the top rack and run it on pots and pans or whatever the top level wash is. That will help clean out calcium and lime, not all of it but doing this once a month is a good idea. The number one tip I can give though is make sure to run your kitchen sink hot water until it's as hot as it gets before starting the dishwasher. This way the first water in is hot. Most dishwashers only allow in a few gallons at a time and unless the water is already hot at the tap it isn't going to get hot water in for the first part. This is important because the first cycle does no self heating of the water. Later cycles usually do but not the first. The water for the dishwasher is coming from the hot water line and as such the hot water heater, this is why the build up is so bad and the soap has a hard time dissolving into the water because the water is already filled with calcium and lime from the hot water heater meaning it cannot accept as much soap. Hope all this helped. If this stuff is interesting to you or you would just like to know more about it I seriously recommend checking out technology connection if you haven't already. Great channel and he does really good videos with in-depth views and showing how everything works.
