Why is there no rubber grommet in the sheet metal hole? I'm not an AC tech but I am an electronics engineer. I'd never have wires going through sharp sheet metal without some type of plastic or rubber grommet.

great job! was the old one with the rotary timer switch dead? they were better made, that thing was maybe 20y old. the new one, I doubt will make it past 10y.

So open ground shows on transmitter all the receptacles in this one particular room are two prong. I am trying to install one GFCI on one outlet in that room. Every outlet shows open ground in that room. I did the learn it turned red solid on two different outlets or two different breakers tried each one tried them both at no point does the transmitter light ever go off and at no point does the outlet ever lose power? I have no idea where I'm going with this. I've tried all of the breakers in the box I am at a complete standstill here no freaking idea. My white wires are on my left my black on my right if I check voltage on my top two which is left white right black I get 120 V if I touch top right black to bottom left white I'm getting about 36 V if I touch top left white bottom right blackI get 5 V riddle me that Batman

Have you wondered what that part is there for? The engineers were geniuses. The rubber is a shock absorber, and the plastic is designed to break before the transmission breaks. So that part sacrifices itself to save the transmission. Overloading the washer contributes to it breaking.

This is a good easy temp fix..the valve opens with no issues guys, no need to bash, if you cant get it closed and need to then this is a good temporary fix! if you are having to do this then it is time to just get the thing replaced, either hire a plumber and dish out 350 bucks or just do it yourself for 20 to 30.

I would replace switch then install wires one by one while the old switch is dangling if there's enough slack in the wires.
