Hi Lili. I’m an artist as well (Bronx native), and found myself crashing on the sofa a lot, in front of the tv when I got home from work. The couch was not comfortable, and hurt my back. Months ago, I gave it away to a needy family, and bought a second-hand recliner chair to go with my upholstered chair. Half of my livingroom is now my art studio, and the other half is for tons of plants, the tv and my two chairs. I now spend more time at my drawing table than sitting in front of the tv. I would describe your home as being eclectic maximalism. You and your boyfriend have tailored your home to fit your creative lifestyles, and made it welcoming for your guests to enjoy dining with you. Livingrooms are overrated. If you don’t need people in your home for more than a couple of hours, why encourage them to sleep on your furniture? I moved to Ohio in 2020, and have only one friend of 31 years who lives here. The acquaintances I have, don’t come over because we work opposite schedules. I don’t buy furniture to impress anyone. I buy what suits my lifestyle. The more time I have for creating, the more paintings I have on hand to sell. Thank you for being unapologetic about how you live, and thank you for sharing your colorful, happy home with the badass view of NYC!

You have put so much thought into your home. While not one thing resonates with my style, I admire your home immensely. I like the two tables. I like the freedom we can have in our spaces. I wanted my bedroom to be a workroom so I bought a daybed for my couch. My bedding is a top sheet I've made into a tube like a sleeping bag. It is just the work of a moment to change the daybed from night to day. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Cheers.
