I couldn't tell which way to attach the red wire and I felt like I was forcing it regardless of which direction I tried. Your video was great in showing what the orientation of the wire should be. Thanks for posting.

Assuming you have it set to preserve battery shutdown after 5 minutes and your server bios AC state is set to 'Always On' or 'Last State' (dunno if relevant but just to be conscise). Also assuming you have the network cable of your server pass through the APC. Power came back (I have an independent way of knowing when power grid goes down and comes back up again) and I wanted to Wake On Lan Server 1 hour later which worked before installing the APC, but now it doesn't anymore and the office is 45 mins away....😑 What do I need to change to get Wake on Lan to work again?

My APC1500 works fine as a backup when the grid power shuts down, but when the house is on genset power, the APC1500 stays in batt power, won't recharge. I even adjusted the "input sensitivity" to low per another video. Any fix for this? Thank you.
@mytechexpert11 ай бұрын
Check to make sure the outlet that your ACP is connected to is being powered by the genset power. Hope this helps.
@GT-kx6hm11 ай бұрын
@@mytechexpert thank you for the reply. Yes, the outlet gets genset power. Turns out my cheap genset power is too "dirty." Tried with neighbor's far more expensive genset, and APC1500 accepts the cleaner power.

Thanks for the video. It got me going at leaast. On the upper left, it shows a plug that says online. then to the right is two little "boxes" the bottom is blinking. I muted the sound and the bottom half says 122v. Is this all normal and good to go. I have all peripherals plugged in except as you noted the printer. Does it all seem ok to you. Thanks for your help.

Hi @Mstgane, it sounds like it is good. the 122v is a normal rate. I believe it is still charge back up. If you have an question or want to chat or more help email me admin@mysupport.expert

It must likely is the system switching from power to battery or battery back to power. It should get better after it has full charged the battery.

Why can't you connect a printer to the battery? Are you referring to small desktop printers or large office printers?
@mytechexpert11 ай бұрын
Printer even small desktop printer draw to much power when they power up and it can damage the battery.

Why can’t you plug in a printer? Doesn’t make sense to me…..
@mytechexpert2 ай бұрын
A printer draws a high amount of power on starting up to print. This spike of a power draw can damage the battery backup circuit systems.

THIS THING REEKS OF ACETONE OR CHEMICAL... giving me an headache, does yours smell, i just bought mine June of 2023 and second day it is just smelling like curing fiberglass or a weird chemical smell, nothing electrical or fire, just closest thing i can say is acetone or curing paint or something automotive, i checked all my car products if spilled over and froze running the fan all night up here in canada. went on google, this stink has been an issue since 2015, and schneider who makes apc ups says all they can do is exchange it.... man, hoping this wears off, did yours stink at all? my room is ten by ten and i have sore throat and headache already... is this made in china with inferior plastic or WHAT?

Hi! I am looking into getting an APC backup for my PC and monitor. We lose our electricity during winter storms, anytime trees come down on lines or even perfectly sunny days! I play Minecraft and when that happens while I am playing, my world gets corrupted. I will also be getting a new computer soon, as mine is too weak and almost 6 years old! Battery first. How do I know how many Watts to get? My new computer will be a lot stronger than the present one. A gaming PC. My monitor will be flat screen, not curved. I am never AFK or idle in my game, so if we lose electricity, I will be right there to log out of my game and turn my computer off properly and quickly. No plans to put anything else on my backup, at present! Also, where do you store this monstrosity? They are huge! Is it best on wood as opposed to a pile rug?

Hi, I would recommend a large high watts UPS based on the fact you want to new gaming system to be supported. I recommend 1500 watts. That is big enough to support a high watt power supply and monitor together and you should have room to add some speakers and accessories. At full load you should a have a few minutes of runtime. the lower the load the longer and better the runtime. This may seem like a lot but pc are using more power now and I expect this will continue as graphic cards and CPU's get more powerful. An easy way to figure it is total the watts of the power supply and add your monitor and any other items you want on the UPS and then estimate extra watts for growth or just head room. That total is the smallest size UPS you should consider if you don't want to be at full load to start. Generally gamers can use a 1500 watt UPS and be ok.

why can printers only go on the surge side?

Building wiring fault has nothing to do with clean/not clean power; It is related to incorrect installation between your "hot" and "neutral" feeds. There are two phases that a hydro utility company will provide; Your specified voltage amplitude and a specified voltage frequency (in North America it is 60Hz). Your hydro utility will only guarantee that the voltage frequency will be a stable 60Hz. Voltage amplitude will vary due to sudden load changes, surge faults, (ie. lightning strikes, equipment failure and ground faults).
@mytechexpert Жыл бұрын
Thank you for clarity on voltage frequency as apposed to amplitude.

You should re-do this video with a better camera angle - once you power up the UPS, the glare on the top part of the screen doesn't let anything show through
