This is what it's about right here. No one else behind you making the music happen. No ghost producers, no stolen beats or tones. Just you and your mind creating beautiful music. I came across this today and was blown away by what you created here. More talent than most of the popular musicians.

Wow, getting chills on this performance. As an electronic musician I can confirm that a lot of people don't understand "what you're doing" on stage. Some assume it's incredibly complicated; others believe you're not doing anything. The truth is somewhere in the middle - it's a live performance like any other, the tools are instruments like other instruments, and different performers can take wildly different angles to being on stage. Singing live really helps convey the talent and you have a great voice. But what I see most as a musician myself is your incredible control over the structure and pacing, singing and multitasking while managing a ton of layers and events to build the bigger picture of song structure. In other words, you crushed it, and that's why everyone with ears and eyes is gonna enjoy this one :)

takes a lot of work to create somethin like this. It's not just press button music. There are lyrics to write, chord patterns, melody lines, riffs, vocal parts, hooks, tweaks, automation, timing. And then there are all those pads that need to be pushed at the correct moment. Call it press button music if you want, see if u can come up with something like this.
@BrendanH1176 жыл бұрын
Well, a cool thing about Ableton is you press a button with very lenient timing, and Ableton will play it at the start of the next bar. If you look on the MKII, when a button is pressed, it blinks and then it stops blinking once the next bar starts.

Also check out DubSpot here on youtube, they have a lot of tutorials from starting basic dubstep tracks to mixing, you can learn plenty from them including a lot of new tricks and techniques. Also SeamlessR, he uses FL Studio but you'll still learn a lot about production. The thing that brought me to Live was it's flexibility, there's so many different ways to go about production, and it's so simple.
@dubUhoo7 жыл бұрын
CyV8D3R FL studio just always sounds like shit compared to other DAWs like Ableton and Reason. don't get me wrong, Fruityloops is my DOC and I've been using it since 2005... there's no other sequencer like it. BUT, it takes me 2 or 3 days of tweaking in FLS to even get close to the same bright clean sound that Reason has. It's rediculous.

Hi rachal question for you , do you wright your own songs first befor recording .? & while looping , I know it comes natural for you now, but how do you know which buttons & knows to turn while looping? I hope I've asked in the right text, if you know what I mean.
@AndreasAmorsen3 жыл бұрын
Hey, Barry. I'm not Rachel, but I remember her saying, in some other video, that everything is pre-written and pre-planned. She constructs and maps out a template, which is very specific to the song, and she then practices the performance to make sure she presses the right buttons and turns the right knobs at the right time. I've been inspired by Rachel to do some looping performances myself, and I can tell you from experience, that the pre-planning is absolutely necessary for creating good transitions between sections and for keeping you level-headed during a performance :)

I like the resulting song itself. Said that, all pre-programmed but still recording the intro live, which is good demonstration, as well as that knob when making transitions.. ok.. but what's the point of playing the keyboard while launching a scene? Why not to include that playing in that same scene? Answer is to get it a little more showy, along with that fancy layout.. which is at the end of the day what everyone is trying to do, people just get impressed by the setup and the nice lady moving to the rythm, why not saying it, anyhow this is not to put down the vid, just a simple opinion, so spare the insults/offences mates, peace.
@mayerlux6 жыл бұрын
I think calling this a mere ‘set up and the nice lady moving to the rhythm’ is condescending to say the least. She is the composer and producer plus she sings her song fantastically. The set up is simple and using pre programmed clips does not detract from her talent. Peace.

How long can it last, this restless thing? Burning, but the flames will die Eventually they'd see us, it have to dry Uh uh uh You see, nothing is forever We could do better to remember You see, nothing is forever We could do better to remember You see, nothing is forever Moving on, and moving on You see, nothing is forever You see, nothing is forever We could do better to remember Moving on, and moving on We could do better to remember You see nothing is forever
