Japan Studios made so many unique games back in the day and Ape Escape was one that stuck with me the most. Hopefully Sony will let Team Asobi bring it back in a big way

I’m 28 years old, so Ape Escape 1,2,3/ pumped and primed/ Ape Academy1,2 Ape Escape million monkeys/ and Ape Escape monkey mania are all games that I will treasure in my memories until I die. The word Nostalgic is not strong enough to describe my love and feelings for this franchise. Especially Ape Escape 3, pumped and primed and Ape Escape million monkeys. I would honestly pay stupid money on a remaster let a lone a remake of these games. And my name on KZbin would change to fully addict gamer.

The Fact that you played Ape Escape 3 before 2 amazes me! Also AE3 is my favorite PS2 Game ever! Currently playing Million Monkey for the first Time Its a bit different and more combat heavy.... But you still capture Monkeys sometimes and also you can play as Charu/Casi and she is the cutest

Been meaning to get into these games and I think I’ll ironically start with 2, the irony being that you haven’t played it. I love 3D platformers with variety and, as a bonus, the 6th generation of consoles is my favourite (don’t forget, Dreamcast is 6th gen too!)

I plan on getting it soon but it’ll probably be the PS2 version mainly for collectors but also because I like the dub more there. I do like the idea of the Dreamcast but I’ve never owned one. it’s funny because whenever I get my hands on an N64, I planned on getting a Dreamcast for games like PSO and Skies of Arcadia. 6th gen was my first gen playing consoles too lol I still remember Ridge Racer 64 and Charlie blasts territory even though I was too young to know what I was doing

@@KatanaRikku I’ll be getting it on PS2 as well, as I’m also a collector! Funny you should mention PSO, I want the original on Dreamcast because it looks super chill, and it’s like £10 on eBay. N64 was my first console but Dreamcast / GameCube / PS2 / Xbox is my favourite gen just because of how many fantastic and creative games there are. Btw, have you played Chibi-Robo on GameCube? It’s more exploration than 3D platformer but I absolutely love it to death and I recommend it to you - despite its very high price

I haven’t tried Chibi Robo but I’m aware of it’s existence solely because of that Nintendo direct thing a few years back. I’ll look into it. I agree though. Games imo were just better and were more interesting back then. Nowadays so many games are doing the whole live service or micro transaction thing and I get why they do it but I still don’t like it lol 😂

@@KatanaRikku Just make sure to only play Chibi-Robo on the GameCube, don’t play the other games in the series… Games definitely were better. I like updates and even DLC but I also like just putting a game in and playing it immediately

I first played the third game as my older cousin bought the game when it first came out back in 2006 I was 5 around this time it was my absolute favorite game on the ps2 I used to always run to my cousin's house just to play this game and eventually when I was 12 I got a PSP and also got the first game it was incredible and after years hunting for the second game I was so glad they released it online I bought it immediately and finally completed this amazing trilogy

I just wish there was a way to show Sony that there still is an audience for Japanese games in general, more specifically games from Sony Japan. It's been a while since we've heard anything from Team Asobi; I just hope the next game that Team Asobi make refutes the idea that there isn't an audience for Japanese games on Sony consoles.

I agree but this is the one chance so I have to get it. I kind of wish they did surveys or if they do I wish they did more that asked what kinds of games their audience expects. PS1 had a ton of Japanese games and I still am looking to get a few more like Legend of Legaia and it’s like where did all of that go smh.

Ape Escape was one of my first few platformers. My brother had Ape Escape 2 and my cousin had the first one, and we'd play them a lot for a long time. We eventually got 3 from renting a PS2 at the now-defunct Nickelodeon Hotel in Orlando, FL, and onwards I was just a huge fan even to this day. I pray it comes back one day whether an original game or a remake/remaster of all 3 games, it deserves it as much as Ratchet, Jak, and Sly, hell even as much as Parappa (who also needs a comeback) anyways man, I hope you have a good one, I'll be here to see your reaction when a new game is announced. If I’m not mistaken, the second game was also published by Ubisoft of all companies. 1 and 3 were published by them at all. I have no idea why this was the case.

I miss these games so much. And it's a tragedy that 3 has been trapped to the ps2 for so long. Its the best in the series and I can't imagine why sony seemingly refuses to port it to modern hardware.

It’s been years since the last one and the market is a lot different now so I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate. They might need to change the gameplay up a bit and make it more modern but I think there’s still a place for it
