I found your tutorials last November and I follow your posts every week because your conga lessons are very concise and I can grasp the techniques easier and faster than with any other instructor. Keep up the good work!

Thanks so much for these tutorials. I have always wanted to play congas and hand percussion. Your vids have made my transition from trap drumming much easier and more fluid than you may know. Thank you!

Yet another great video. I have a dozen pages in my lesson note book of just triplet exercises that I was tortured with. Heel tip triplets, Heel tip tone/slap/muff triplets. One drum, two drum, three drum. ARGGGGG....... lol. Great way to work on coordination.

Thanks again for a very precise, technical triplet instructional made very simple to understand. Very useful and hey the one Quinta drum was appropriste. Hopefully next Thursday's tutorial you'll have only 2 drums so we'll get a very precise, technical Guaguanco instructional made very simple and understandable for a dummy such as me. Bravo!!!

Speaking of your choice of drums, how do you tune yours? It sounds like you typically tune your quinto to E and your conga to a C, which leads me to believe you generally tune all of your drums around a C chord (standard tuning), with your conga as your primary, correct?
@APercussionLife6 жыл бұрын
DiscoCat1019 you are correct!!! In some cases when I play all 5 I play with these notes- Super Tumba (Right)- B Quinto- G or A (depends) Conga - D# (High Octive) (main drum) Super Tumba (Left)- D# (Low Octive) Tumba (left)- C#

Wow!,, I'm sure it won't be just for me. There are plenty more dummies out there. I've seen all if not most of your instructional videos. Your approach, presentation, ideas and concepts to conga playing are on the money. Oops, yeah, right, $. So any one who is ridiculous enough to have any negative comment about your excellent work should start paying dues and paying for such valuable insight, history and more regarding the CONGA DRUM. From which I derive great joy. Thank you and I appreciate you for tolerating my humor and candor.
