have you ever mic'ed congas from the top and bottom to get more bass? Im wondering if it might create a more dynamic sound combining top & bottom?

I think it would be a good idea for you to measure out the space between the mics to drum and side mics to main drum. To make sure the are all the same(or as close as possible), to avoid any possible phase cancellation. And maybe an equalateral triangle for the bongos. Like drum overheads to the snare.

Thanks Erik, one question. The bongos doesnt sound dry, I hear some short reverb in hight frequencies. Is that added after recording or is an effect form room acoustics? Thanks

This is such a great video!! I see that you have something under your congas. Are those restaurant serving trays or something specific for congas to project sound? Are these better than seated conga stands?

Are you still using your Behringer UMC404HD and is it a 4-channel or 8? I'm thinking about buying an interface and this one seems to be pretty good. Keep doing what you're doing...it makes a genuine difference to those of us trying to be somewhat decent :)
