I like your reviews. There are so many wanna be experts, that it repulses me. It's good to have someone review subs subjectively, and talk of the attributes and negatives, without being negative. Some reviewers push you away from one sub to another, just to change their mind. Having listened to all types of stereo, speakers and subs for over 40 years, I appreciate your straightforwardness. Keep'em coming!

Great catch noticing how it fills the room! I had the same experience with the 8" model, I was very surprised how it sounded like I almost had 2 subs. I think I described it as having 1 and a half subwoofers lol. The 10D is also super good.

Hey Nemo, thanks for the comment! We weren't expecting this sub to perform nearly as well as it did, and I feel like that's part of the magic that comes with Aperion's products. We checked out your review on the 10D - great job by the way!! subbed to your channel! - and it seems like both subs have pretty similar sound characteristics. We've always loved the dual passive radiator design, especially when it's done right. 😀

Another excellent review. I was very curious and interested in Aperion audio but their speakers. They are often described as smooth. Man since I got my new SVS PB-2000 Pro the craziest bass I have experienced is Midway which I watched yesterday. That was some crazy bass from beginning to end.

Thanks for watching! We're really happy with Aperion Audio's lineup, they seem to have some excellent value all around! Midway also has a fantastic bass track - we're glad you enjoy the new sub! :)

Svs was a great choice. Solid company, product and sound. Aperion is good but not svs good.

I'm wondering how well a pair of these Bravus IIs would pair up w/ my Arendal 1723 towers (they're on an Emotiva XPa-Dr2 power amp) in a music only setup?

How does the RSL Speedwoofer stack up against this price point?
@TwoGuyzTech3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The RSL Speedwoofer is certainly a good sub for the price, but it definitely won't have as much output as the Bravus 12D - though to us, the biggest thing is the quality of the bass output, which is where the Bravus 12D really shines mainly due to its dual passive radiators. I think if you went with dual Speedwoofers, you'd be getting closer to the Bravus 12D's output, but honestly, the only way to know for sure is to have them in your room at the same time and test them to see how they stack up against each other. Hope this helps! 😀
@tycheesey3 жыл бұрын
@@TwoGuyzTech thanks for the response guys! That is precisely what I have done, gone dual with the RSL, second one just came in today. Maybe further down the road I'll have the guts to pull the trigger on something like the Bravus. Love the channel and the reviews you do!

How does this compare to the HSU line of subs? A lot of people feel the value to performance is better with that brand. :)
@TwoGuyzTech3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately we haven't had a chance to listen to/review any of HSU's subwoofers but we'd like to give them a try sometime!
@TylerStout3 жыл бұрын
$900 after using your promo code puts it in a tough spot I feel as ported subs are going to give you a lot more output like SVS PB2000 pro, HSU VTF3-MK5, and Rythmik FVX12 and can plug the ports for the HSU and SVS to get that tighter sound for music.
@TwoGuyzTech3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Ported subs might give you more output (though honestly we were very impressed with the output of the Bravus 12D in our large open concept living room), but even with port plugs, we don't feel like ported subs running in sealed mode would compare to the incredibly fast output of the Bravus 12D (and, of course, you would lose output by plugging the ports on a ported sub!). Unfortunately, we haven't had the opportunity to review any of the subs you mentioned, but hopefully we'll be able to experiment with this more in the future. Of course, in the end, it all depends on the type of bass you like - and that's the magic of Home Theater! 😀
@TylerStout3 жыл бұрын
@@TwoGuyzTech So I have two of the hsu vtf2-mk5 and not the vtf3 and with that plugging the ports makes a considerable difference over the 1 port plugged mode. When comparing with same settings I just plugged the port mid song during really fast drumming and it went from hearing the drumming but kinda blurred together to hearing each individual hit. Wish I knew the song I was listening to as I've made quite a bit of optimizations since then with placement and eq via miniDSP. So while yes you lose output I feel it's more acceptable since music isn't normally digging to 20hz unlike movies where having them ported would. I definitely agree this is probably in-between a fully sealed vs fully ported subwoofer for qualities but I'd rather have the ability to switch between the two even if the sealed version isn't exactly ideal compared to say a sb2000 pro. Another thing I've heard from the latest audioholics podcast with Anthony grimony was they said they passive radiator subs tend to have a more bloated sound due to the fact that the main driver has to build up pressure in order to move the passive radiator and that delay causes it to be bloated sounding apparently. Not sure if you noticed that but interesting nonetheless.

That is one nice lookin' sub! Personally it's a little too pricey and i'd probably reach for the RSL10S sub at half the price (actually it might be less than 1/2 the price if I remember correctly)
