Hey Man excellent video. Tons of pertinent and useful information. As you know I have a pair of the Aperion Audio V5B speakers in house for almost a year now. I am still amazed by how much tight punchy bass that I get from that 5 1/4 inch driver in a thirteen inch tall cabinet. I love the wire jumpers too. The gloss cherry finish is beautiful!

Bit embarrassed to admit I have 14 Aperion Audio speakers in my home. I made my 1st AA speaker purchase 15 years ago; 7.1 main cinema, 3.1 cinema and recently added pair of V6T Towers to provide an awesome 2 channel experience. Zero issues with reliability/build quality and their beautiful furniture grade cabinets has gone a long way with the “misses” support of my “hobby”.

Given your previous experience with various Ascend Acoustics speakers, I was curious if you had considered including their new Sierra LX speaker, which is right at the $1,500 target for this speaker comparison? It apparently has unbelievable bass (both extension and output) for a speaker of it's size.

Thank You, Jason. Yes still there's plenty of (depressing) trade-off to be considered in that price range. With the V8Bs it might be the the tweeter which may have it's problems with the "sshhhh" and lower "sch" phonemes, among many speaker competitiors. We will learn from you... Whenever I bought bookshelf speakers in the past a pleasant surprise was when rather than pondering about subwoofers early I discovered a little headroom for attenuation (like -2dB) in the lower like 40 Hz bass department. Some - just some - will actually deliver on that! Hecos are available as "open box new" items over and over again for less than 900 Euros here in Germany. - Heco among other brands from that conglomerate have a reputation for well engineered drivers but cheesy inner parts like damping mats and crossover components ever since. Traces of hardnened out hot glue are just everywhere, on and off the crossover. Wood screws will no longer engage with their MDF after slightest overtightening, be careful!😅 Keep them coming!

You pointed out something very key with the Heco that I have to belabor in the next video. As to say (depressing) I've never felt that critical about speakers in the $1,000 - $2,000 US range. So few have really stood out with above average build quality and components that I choose to be more excited when something like the Aperion V8B and Philharmonic BMR come along.

How do the Aperion (as well as the others) sound at low to moderate volume levels? That's what I mainly listen at. Does the bass retain its qualities or is it a speaker that needs to be given lots of power before it reaches its performance levels? Also, how is imaging and stage depth? I have had MA silver 100 6th in my room and while I liked it for the most part, it could sound a bit congested in the upper mods/highs at times. But bass, midbass and lower mids were nicely defined and punchy. It also had a very wide stage but it wasn't very deep. No experience with Heco.

I'm surprised that the crossed that at 2800 an 8 " starts beaming around 2000 maybe the tweeter doesn't get that low idk but everything else it looks really good for the money. It's a good looking speaker . Big woofers just can't be beat. Good video I like the way you dig into the speakers .

The only speaker that got a little unruly was the 7G on electric guitar, certainly jumps and bites in low mids. The V8B's were the flattest of the three, meaning most controlled and consistent, not dull. Appreciate you watching and commenting, thank you.

You have a pretty big room for stand mounts, certainly dual subs make a big difference for room filling bass. How far back are you sitting?

@@2ChannelListening set up is facing along the wider part of the room ( it’s not a dedicated audio room) . My floor standers currently are about 5 feet away from the front wall (but i move them back against the front wall after each listening session) and about 7. 5 feet apart and my chair is about 8.5 feet away . I tried the Triangle Bro 3 before , it was great with jazz and vocals but with rock , it just was not resolving enough , was “messy”. I’ve been looking for big bookshelves on a budget ever since .

Hard to give this a legit comparison since the space is completely different as are the electronics. The Aperions are darn good, I mean really terrific for $1,500, especially such robust well defined bass. The BMR's will play a bit more neutral and flatter, yet I still love the air of the ribbon tweeter so I would nod upper level information and presentation to the BMR. I have yet to hear stronger, fuller bass from a stand mount than the Aperion V8B.

Strange as the Heco placed first in a previous review compared with Focal, SVS, Dali, Monitor Audio among others. As a budget speaker, I found it strange Heco placed as well as it did in comparison to the others. Well, all the others are still within the budget range as well.

For me, the Heco Celan had a low threshold that really surprised me. My simple cheap hack went a long way to address the issue I found. More to come.

Certainly one of the very few areas of non detrimental cost cutting. I will say its density is less prone to ringing versus the cheap plastics ones often found in similar and more expensive designs. Somethings got to give. Thanks for watching.
