I just turned 60 a few days ago. Nothing went the way I planned in my life, I barely recognize the world I find myself in. Everyone I knew in my life has gone and with them went all shared experiences. No one remembers anything with me anymore, I remanence by myself of reminiscing with others. I don't mind being forgotten, I expected that, I didn't plan on being left alone so soon with so much left to remember. The funny thing is, I could reasonably live another forty years, adding more memories and being remembered even less! Life; What a trip! To my friends and family, my past lovers and lost cohorts, you made it all worthwhile, your memories still bring a smile. You lit the stars and filled my world with song. I'll keep dancing to your melody, carrying you along. And if I am very lucky, the dancefloor won't be empty.

I remember when I was a teenager I used to imagine all my friends at that point coming to my funeral when I got old and died, and how they would fill up the little chapel and perhaps they had to use the big chapel even. It's a strange thing, because it didn't even occur to me then that I could outlive them all. Here's the thing: As you say, you may have 40 years left, and that means you can choose to do it all over. Take a new education, get a new profession, new friends... It will of course be much harder at your age, but it's realistically possible. I know of a person who started to learn how to play the violin at 74 years old. I also have a friend at 55 who've been wanting to learn how to play the violin all his life, and who know the basics and everything, and for 10+ years I've been showing him how good that 74 years old were at 79, and tried to tell him that he could be just as good in 4 years - if he just actually commits to learning the damn fiddle. Gene Roddenberry - the man behind Star Trek - was a cop for the most of his adult and professional life. Until he was 50 years old, when they finally accepted Star Trek, and the rest is history. As the social commentary that Star Trek really is, it comes from all the crap Mister Roddenberry watched and saw us humans do to each other, as a police officer for several decades. He had the need to tell the world, and used different alien species as substitute for human ethnicities, and thus he could get away with much more controversial stories.Star Trek has also always been on the bleeding edge of progressivity, with having the first black female star in a TV-show and such, and so many thing, from your mobile phone to the doors opening automatically on your local store, comes directly from Star Trek. The engeineers inventing that stuff watched Star Trek and wanted that world. The guy making the very first Palm Pilot openly admitted it was directly inspired by the TriCorder in Star Trek. Which, btw, was a device we all dreamt of growing up, and thought of as so futuristic, but if you look at any of the old Star Trek series and the TriCorders, they look really old, bulky and crap. As opposed to mobile phones of today. Or, you can go all Camus, and ask yourself why you don't kill yourself right now. Albert Camus thought the only actual philosophical question in life was exactly that, why don't I kill myself right now. Because there aren't really any reasons at all, he thought, so that renedered all other questions irrelevant because you ask that one question, and then kill yourself.

You know, today I thought I was dead. As I was driving to a job interview. A car jumped lanes and almost hit me. If it did, it was going to be head-on. But it didn't and I just ended up driving and going to my interview. I get there, I sit down with the person who was interviewing me. I went through the whole interview, and it felt good. I had a great conversation. After the interview, I walked out of the building and felt good enough to go for a walk. As I was walking, I noticed that I was so calm, relaxed, and feeling carefree. And is reflected in the way I spoke in today's interview. It dawned on me that everything around me also looked colorful. The lights were bright in the mall I was in, and the rain that was pouring outside turned to sunlight. Euphoric bliss is what I associated myself with at that moment. Because deep down, I was joyful. So joyful I wanted to cry because I couldn't believe how real life is sometimes. Yet content with just fading, leaving completely and it didn't feel forced. I felt "ready" because, at that moment, I didn't have fear. Did the car actually hit me? The question dawned on me. I noticed a ripply effect on my mood and the environment around me. The day changed after that car almost hit me. In a way, it was the perfect day. I had a great interview, I walked around in the beautiful sunlight, saw a movie, got groceries, and listened to my favorite music. In the end, I don't think I am dead. I just came close to death. And everything afterwards, well looked incredible because you really don't know when everything ends. But when it does end, I hope it takes me back to that same feeling I felt after the near-death experience. Back to Euphoric Bliss...

One of the things I enjoy most about 'Aperture's' videos is the soothing tone and quality of his voice. Such a refreshing alternative to the dime-a-dozen 'Universe' videos narrated by dumb chatbots that seem to have a limited vocabulary and completely overuse the word 'enigmatic'. Last time I was watching a video about space, i.e., within the first 2 minutes, I heard the dumb A.I. use the word 'enigmatic' about 3 times! 2:30 we may need to reevaluate what perception is in this instance, as nothing in the universe exists separately from everything else, so there will always be something nearby to "experience" the "sound" of a tree falling. Perhaps that experience may not be auditory for something else like another tree, but it will surely experience the pressure wave we would describe as a sound.

Hopes, Dreams, Love, Promises & Devotion, are just as real as Dispair, Hate, Remorse & Fear. Emotions have power over us because we are animals. We are also responsible for failure to control our emotions. Outcome of choice is reality. Being hungry, cold & wet is just as real as memories of wonderful times. Stay in your lane. Your decisions led you to your current state of affairs & that folks, is the cold, hard truth of reality.

This is exactly what Descarte was talking about when he said "I think, therefore I am." It was not some mystical BS about how his mind creates reality. It was the simple fact, LITERALLY, the ONLY thing we can be ABSOLUTELY, 100% without a doubt certain of is the fact that if we are thinking, we exist. It is entirely possible that our day-to-day experiences are a complete fabrication, and we (or I, because I have no way of KNOWING whether or not others are conscious) could simply be a brain in a jar, or computer code running on a simulation. But, if we are conscious (and I assume, though do not know, that others are), then there can be no denying that we exist. We are our consciousness. So, whatever our physical reality, we cannot be mistaken about our conscious reality.
@Censeo

About solipsism. In every possible world a mind can only see the mind they have. So in all worlds where mind(s) exist, solipsism is an option that is consistent and logical. The problem then is to give it credence when every circumstansial evidence hints at solipsism is not the case.

Im a schizophrenic. Ive met my dopplegänger 3 times. The second time, I was sleeping and I awakened at 3am.. feeling like someone was in the room with me.. so I rolled over in bed, and there I was.. knelt down with both hands sat on the bed.. theres nothing stranger in a human experience than sitting alone with yourself for 5 minutes, staring into eachothers eyes.. not speaking a word. I wonder, if he's my game host, playing me, or he set me loose in this simulation, set in the rules I must exist in.. coming to check on me.. maybe we all have a host.. playing each of us.. things are getting stranger and stranger.. but that's schizophrenia.. or thats what we label such experiences happening under

The reason why it is so difficult to understand you are the center of the universe, is because you believe you are the body. This is why one can gain enlightenment by following the breath going in one's nose, or noticing one's surroundings. Because when we do, we realise I am looking at, or from out of, what I think is myself. And if I can do that I must not be the body. So if I find myself at the conclusion I am the center of the universe, and I know I am not my body Then whoever I am MUST be the center of the universe, in actuality. Now when you notice the bodies around you, you understand the same goes for them. So we all in that moment of understanding, are not different people, but the one and only being in existence, but living an experience through different bodies. So it is necessary for you to see yourself for the reason life exists, the same goes for everyone else as well, because that is the whole truth and nothing but. WE are HIM. HIM being the only conscious being to exist or ever will.

Why to live? Why to help others? Why we live only to carry and pass our Gene's? How come the purpose of life which is just living has errors like when people suicide? If we can some day control our happiness just with a normal button what's next? Why should we achieve more knowledge? For better comfort? When does the comfort stop? How much comfort is enough? What makes us think that this act is good or bad? Wh made human rights? Does it matter when the nature itself doesn't show mercy? What's the difference between a scientist when he achieve happiness from an invention from a monkey when it achieves happiness by breeding? Who measures them? After a we get to know everything about the world will our goal be comfort again? What will change anyway a world by nature laws or a world by human laws? When does humanity truly gets satisfied?

question, did we invent the absurd as well? the things we would never have created on our own for example the black holes or expansiveness of the universe. did we also invent/not invent the things in our timeline that "do not exist" for example whoever discovered "color" simultaneously discovered the lack of color

The tree does make a noise tho. The sound waves still exist and emit not the surrounding world with or without an ear canal to process it. Noise is an abstract term anyway if were saying noise is the thing we hear then that is just a personal interpretation of the real sound waves. Which may be percieved differently by say a cat or dog o squirrel in th woods.

"The ultimate deception... when someone is not" If the proverbs ring true. That's a synonym to, "the greatest trick the devil ever pulled. Was convincing the world he didn't exist." Would it be the ultimate? I don't know. But i do feel that when it labelled "ultimate", it could easily be regarded a compliment or accomplishment. Then you'd be confronted with being the devil. Which makes me question, you'd better ask yourself if you should Want to be

first 7 minutes of "The Episode that Solved Stewie's Paradox" by KZbinr The Theorizer , PERFECTLY explains HOW and WHAT caused big bang + creation of TIME but just imagine SATAN and ADAM doing it instead of Stewie and his dog. could this be the reason why God can't kill Satan but only imprison him? who saved Adam by giving him the knowledge of good and evil thus making him a GOD ? Satan. (ancient serpent) how does your reproductive system look like? if you're a man, it looks like a SNAKE. if you're a woman, it looks like MOUTH of the SNAKE. real God/Observer that imagined things into existence is bigger than we've ever thought!!! the bible also says that God will rule for 1000 years AFTER imprisoning Satan for 1000 years does this sound suspicious to you ?
