I had a near-death experience a few years ago when I suffered a pulmonary embolism while hiking. My experience rattled me because when I died I was an atheist and had no prior preparation to experience anything other than nothingness upon death. I did not have any beliefs and I was not raised in an environment that fostered such thinking. I scoured everything for a few years trying to find a philosophy or religion that matched my after life experience and new beliefs. All the while trying to live a normal life and not seem too unhinged to my friends and family. Lol. Trust me, three years ago I was not thinking or talking about existence, or quantum physics, or epigenetics, or fracturing...And like everyone else I was just trying to survive. I got a degree in psychology and a good psychotherapist right away because I didn't know what else to do. I didn't understand I was seeking spirituality. Suddenly I was an outsider among a crew who all still live by the ego and doesn't believe in a soul. I am actually seeking a mix of spirituality, physics, and alchemy and game theory. Your channel and another channel called Your Youinverse make me feel less alone in my belief systems. Nobody in my everyday life likes discussing topics of such depth and that's all I want to do now! Understanding your mind, especially the subconscious mind, is a top priority. My experience of another place separate from this life taught me that I am in a projected reality separate from my suspended form that is emerging and learning, shaping its conscious form. Becoming self aware and my thoughts and feelings are an algorithm steering the ship so to speak. I know I am "suspended" in another dimension. I know it's a shared platform. I know there is a "code". I know the structure of our foundation is made of an ethereal silver light and I am certain that a being of light particles spoke to me through crushing vibrations and strings of mental imagery that I am still trying to decipher. Lol, it's alot. It's tough to fit in after something like this happens and I just wanted to say how grateful I am for this kind of content. After my nde it is helping to re-orient all the chaos surrounding my massive shift in thought. So, thank you. 🤗

@blsil7863 thankyou for sharing your nde and thereafter. I had a similar. Mine was 20+ years ago... Recently I discovered the youtube nde channels and was amazed...how it has exploded on the internet. I had been a hermit essentially so this discovery brought me out. My medical event gave me courage to be true to me... so living a life where awareness is my number 1. Cognitive (so psychology and pyschotherapy).. is ranked very low in my reality. I also studied these also in my 10 years research and walked away... built on foundation paradigms that do not honour human being magnificence that we are... pure light we are. My medical/nde event, essentially means I could transmute all the contractions (aka non-love in our being). Also means old crew are experienced differently but not less. Maybe you can do that.. so any experience with the 'old' crew will transmute and return to love. I now watch Charlie Goldsmith alot.. as after my 10 years zealous research he is the first energy healer that relates to awareness like my experience.. And he heals for free... and speaks of it all, so naturally and least woo woo, for me. I have watched him heal now up to 30 cases that medical + psy have failed to help. After my many modalities and lots of $$ research, I realised there is much nonsense in energy healing, another realm for people to over promise and under deliver., and also some truth. Too many people project their own experience rather than understand the nature of reality. Charlie is the one exception for me. I have done most of the energy healing modalities out there and most are superficial. I had to learn to trust self and live by my truth. Charlie is showing that also and emphasising using our own creativity to explore our gifts. His conviction in self is the most inspiring.. as this is along side humbleness. Once I accepted my rage for having to come back here to earth... the fullness of my gifts begun to be experienced. I had felt ashamed I was not valuing life on earth .. as where ever I went makes here look miserable and backward. Now I realise I can create that experience here, often, the more I live from my awareness versus from my brain. I found heartmath instititue helpful and realising when I am in heartbrain coherence was revealing (aka gifts are online versus offline). I hope this helps.

That is quite an experience and transformation. You could say you jumped to a new dimension and are now trying to understand the rules of your domicile. I have come to the awakening process from a completely different experience, but that is not important. What is important is that you are asking relevant questions. Know that now since you removed the filter of 'there is nothing beyond this existence' there will be no philosophy or religion or anything that will satisfy your experience. Through your seeking you will create another every bit as valid as any other that may incorporate some aspects of some and exclude aspects of others. We are all the same yet vastly different mostly because we experience our existence through the lens of fear based filters from previous years. If you want a really interesting and rewarding 'cheat sheet' tip that will help you the most consider this: Spirituality (Consciousness) is fundamental. Then Alchemy (manipulating reality by living through your heart and have it direct the processes of the brain. Game theory: The directed and intentional use of Alchemy. And then Physics which when you master the other three along with a degree of patience and gratitude the laws of physics seem to bend to your will. It takes dedication and commitment and may not be easy in the beginning but once you start seeing that you are the director of your life, your heart expands, the depth of your Intellect develops and you will have another paradigm shift from fear to love. This is all new to me too and now my heart is filled with joy all the time. Cheers.

I agree Donald is head and shoulder above space/time physicists. His interpretation of his work is validating what Max Planck asserted a hundred years ago that Consciousness is fundamental and it is only fundamental because of the limited quality of the filters that our Consciousness has to truly see the reality of our experiences. Once we understand the nature of our Consciousness from a fundamental level we will also see that there are other 'forces' that create our Consciousness that will allow us to remove some of the limiting filters and start to see and understand through different filters that give us greater clarity of what this experience we call reality actually is.

@elonever.2.071 Another idea that seems to gain more and more approval in the spiritual communities is that it is presumed that there is an infinite amount of realities and dimensions. Most of Donald Hoffman's ideas were new and challenging to me, however I 100% enjoyed this mind stimulating conversation. I love to examine new ideas that can help me unravel, in my limited understanding, the mystery of why we are here and what this is all about. Hoffman is a brilliant and open-minded researcher who is not wedded to any particular theory or idea, but acknowledges that, as he said, "Nothing should be sacrosanct". He also stated in this interview, "No matter how smart you are, it's going to be trivial to the reality beyond". I wish all scientists had this mentality, since the only way we are going to advance, is if we continue to question old ideas and contemplate, sometimes seemingly impossible, new ones. What has been holding us back for centuries is that people, and I feel scientists in particular, hold on to their ideas even after the proof is pointing to an alternative truth. I would love to have the intellect and training to participate in his research. We need more like him and I believe we would be a lot further along if scientists and researchers took his approach. Thank you for this conversation. I will continue to research these ideas which I find stimulating and fascinating. Please bring more like this.

This is the best interview of Hoffman that I've seen. He is so well-spoken, humble, open-minded. But above all he is a true scientist who demands rigor and proof from himself, his team, and all other scientists investigating consciousness. This interview takes the approach of "inquiring minds want to know," and I appreciate Duqum's questions. Somewhere out there in a different existence we live as pure consciousness. What you don't realize is that we went through a hell of a lot of trouble and it takes a hell of a lot of energy to create the physical experience you are experiencing. Don't waste your time worrying about what's out there so much as enjoying what's here. Even if this theory was true and our consciousness was let say "unplugged" from physical reality upon death...we wouldn't know it was us after physical death since memories and personality are physical neurons/synapses in the brain...therefore IF this theory is true, we didn't know before we were born and we won't know after we are dead, which is the same as nothing before and nothing after. @@thomasbenham9316this whole idea that there is only consciousness and the rest is just a convincing story is found in many metaphysical writings of today and older writings from the past. Donald Hoffman is very derivative in many aspects of his thinking. Things may sound good at first but apply it to your everyday living and see if what he is saying is not just some kind of philosophical claim or mere assertion that sounds good but in fact is only an illusion. An example would be someone who gets into an unfortunate accident, and then tell that person: well your responsible because you're writing your story. And that's just the beginning to test this kind of thinking. You don't really know until you're there in that kind of situation. Whether it's you or a friend of yours. It's fun to say things that we're just telling each other stories and that's all there is to life, but then there is life. Is there anything more than just stories and storytellers? Beautifully spoken ✨ This body mind, while walking through the mall, has what some might call a glimpse, in this or during this glimpse all I could say that was seen, is utter emptiness, the mall turned into a golden tone-ish light (sorta like a scene on a stage coming to an end as the lights fade) I was walking one direction and suddenly turned to look back, only to see this body as what I can only explain as "transparent photos" coming towards what I knew was "me" but not the me from within this body. In-between those photos of this body coming towards me, was what we can all see directly in front of our faces, "nothing between other things we tend to see" that was sorta moving the photos of this body. Mind you, what I know as my true self or the self, was not this body but the actual fabric of "nothingness itself" What I am getting at is, what was seen and known is the nothingness as true and everything and on some level, we all know this ALREADY, because that nothingness, is where everything arises from, that nothingness is, as, by ect, all that exists. Which cannot be explained within words, ideas, theories, story's, beliefs, ect, yet, there is an attempt to explain an experience of it, if that makes any sense, it doesn't to this body mind, but might to another.

I think we all get the opportunity to perceive and experience life in a unique way. I am a believer that consciousness is eternal, but death is not an illusion. Death is a certainty in our reality. It might represent a transfer of consciousness, but in our experience, it is inevitable. The concept of "joy" is subjective and tied to our current circumstances. Many people around the world don’t get to experience the same sense of joy-does that mean they’re not part of our true reality? Life seems like a test, with each of us facing different levels of difficulty. Some start in "easy mode" with money but end up feeling miserable, while others have to search for the tools to find joy despite tough situations. Some endure unimaginable hardships and never discover what true happiness means. Either way I do thank god for the opportunity to experience this life, and we must accept and endure every aspect of it, regardless what it may consist.

In that moment, I was utterly captivated, in total peace. It’s like the thought mechanism switches to an awareness feeling only. The moment I thought what if I go out of my body with it and can’t find my way back, it caused a rupture and so my conscious mind blocked what I was seeing and feeling in my awareness. Great stuff 🙂 to even have an experience like that. One amongst many since I arrived in this consciousness as an embryo.

My own view is that many people will listen to this information and think they understand it, but in reality they will not. I believe in a distinction between knowledge and understanding, in that understanding is not simply extensive knowledge, but emotional knowledge. I've tried for two decades to understand what it means for the world we sense to be created internally. Sometimes I get flashes of understanding but broadly speaking, it's beyond our capabilities to retain that understanding for any length of time. Evolution has seen to that. Still, it's worth the effort. When you feel it, when you feel what it is, it's like the universe opens up and you fall into the void, just for a second.

On 11/1/22, during a meditation session early in the morning, I had the inexplicable but very real experience of leaving my body. It started with an increasing internal tremor until my entire body was vibrating, I remember hearing my wooden headboard hitting the wall in unison with this vibration. Then an auditory stimulation that sounded like rushing water, also increasing, until it was a roaring and with a whoosh my mind was severed from my body and from my physical reality. Actually, I fell out of my body and into/through a tunnel of absolute darkness. I had the distinct feeling of wind rushing past me as I continued to fall. Then, the worst part began, which is something I’m still struggling with emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. The increasing speed with which I traveled/fell through this dark tunnel then caused a buffeting that felt as if the searing wind was peeling my skin back in certain parts of my body. Soon, it felt like, as if parts of me being ripped out of my very fabric. Essential pieces of me, tearing away like shingles off a roof during a hurricane. There was immense pain associated with this experience. I balled up in midair to prevent myself from being shredded. I feared that I would cease to exist and turn into confetti in the wind. Then, the falling sensation ended, and with that, the rushing/roaring wind, the falling and the painful tearing and shredding. I had fallen into an absolute Void, a vacuum of utter and impenetrable darkness. I remember trying to use my physical senses, which seemed so clunky, unrefined and strange in this environment. I expanded my consciousness to perceive my surroundings, but all I remember was being suspended in this Void, utterly alone with an increasing feeling of isolation and loneliness. Time, as we understand it, isn’t really anything that translates to this Void….but according to my watch, I spent 7 hours in this state. I laid down on my bed shortly after 7:30am and regained my physical consciousness before 3pm. I’m struggling to find words to describe the how or ways-and-means with which I clawed my way back to myself, but sheer willpower was at the core of it. My “old self” died that day. The person who willed herself back into a physical body had lost the “bits and pieces” that made me uniquely me. All the things that were previously important, or infused my life with happy excitement, were gone. Worst of all, since 11/1/22, I have lost the ability to “connect to my heart.” I still feel emotional pain and all the not-so-nice stuff in my chest, but I’m unable to feel the warm, expanding, loving feeling that was previously always present in such quantity that I often had the feeling my heart was flowing over with love. Now, my chest cavity is numb and reminiscent of the dark, vacuous Void. I’m sure that something transpired in this Void that I was not allowed to remember. As much as I wreck my brain to remember, I have no memory of interacting with anything or anyone. I am no longer the person I have been prior to this experience. I struggle with the perception of time, which is important in terms of short-term memory and overall orientation. Sometimes, yesterday feels like it was a month ago, and on the other hand, a week no longer feels as long as it used to. I no longer care, not the least bit, about the material things in life. I was never extremely materialistic, but had some things I was saving up for. None of them even register at all. My link to nature has increased, and often only a walk in the woods will provide me with the feeling of connection to this reality. Anyways, this is hopefully a concise story of an inexplicable experience. I truly feel like that “I died before dying.” I feel lost, floating in a reality that I now know to be nothing but a drama/play in which my role was canceled, but I’m somehow still on stage. Life is stranger than I could’ve imagined in my wildest dreams

I had an experience which resulted in similar outcomes as you. I think what causes these feelings is that your view of the world and all that was important to you has fallen away, but that's good, because a lot of what we hold onto and think of ourselves is not really us. You say you no longer care about materialistic things anymore, ultimately that's a good thing, but it shows what value you used to give to material things as a source of your happiness, but this is not true happiness. I went through the exact thing with materialism. It's a very jarring experience, especially to happen in such a short space of time as mine was too. But over time, you will start to value the right things and realise what matters and the love will return more than ever I'm sure. ❤

Years ago, my friend died and came back. She came back a different person, angry at the world. She was adamant that she went to a dark void filled with nothingness. I wasn’t mature enough then to ask her the right questions then. I don’t even remember pressing her properly. I stupidly glossed over it. She died permanently 2 years after. Now I am much wiser but she’s gone and I can never ask her what I wish I could now

This is perfect. I have buried myself in “A Course In Miracles” and it 100% knowingly places itself smack in the middle of everything being said here. May I add, to an unexpected degree! it says that we imagined separation from God, but forgot to laugh. Our free will has put us into the only safe way to be separate from heaven, to be awake in a dream. And to top it off, it was all dictated by Jesus reconfiguring Christianity back to its original form. A way to actually “love your enemy”,…a way to actually “not despise an evil door.” 🎯Thanks for this unexpected vista❤️ Wow!

I absolutely adore Donald Hoffman. The first I ever saw him was a TedX talk where he gave just a light overview of how our perception is not of "True" reality, and it ended there. I was hooked; he was making statements that, evident as they might be, were out of place for a scientist with a PhD to say. I'm so thrilled to see where his work has gone and absolutely *cannot* wait to see where it goes! ❤

This episode is a broadcast I could listen to again and again. “For one to become two to realise again they are one.” I loved the hide and seek analogy. I am mother to one who has been a true gift of realisation and who has invited me to growth. So as a younger lad we climbed trees and played hide and seek. He played a little too well. During this metaphor, I recalled seeking *and seeking and seeking and seeking* (little bugger had figured out how to get into my 2001 grand vitara and lay in the back!) I looked and I looked. I went to the neighbours, I came home. Looked under the house, under the bed, everywhere! Thought about calling the police - ‘my four year old is missing.’ And in that moment of the podcast, after referencing the mother’s view of hide and seek being about fun for the child… i thought back and recognised that my angst about my boy being out of my view, reminded me that 2 was one; that i could not “am” till oneness returned. When I peered into the back of that care (eventually) - my child sat upright from his laying down position, smiling as I flung the door open to reunite. Thank you for the reminder of a moment in time and thank you for this remarkable conversation.

The core of his philosophy is very similar to an old statement by Alan Watts, which was: “Everyone of us is an aperture through which the whole cosmos looks out. It’s as if you had a light covered with a black ball. And in this ball are pinholes. And each pinhole is an aperture through which the light comes out. So in that way everyone of us is actually a pinhole through which the fundamental light - that is existence itself - looks out. Only, the game we are playing is not to know this. To be only that little hole which we call me, my ego, my specific John Jones or whatever. If we can maintain at the same time the sense of being this specific John Jones with his role in life and know also underneath it that we are the whole works… you get a very marvelous and agreeable arrangement. It gives one’s life a great sense of joy and exuberance - if you could carry on these two things at once. In other words, if you know all the theories and predicaments of life is a game.”
@ly62032 ай бұрын
Alan Watts Metapher corresponds to the theory of how the Stars being apertures thru which Light from beyond is shining, so nice to imagine everybody of US is one of the hundred of trillion Stars comè down to the Planet earth as a Ball of gods Light in order of making Experiences as a human, maybe willingly like a bodysattwa to bring high conciousness to this world,and in death transgressing back to open itself for spreading Light Asa Star.

This was really quite intellectually stimulating. I rarely stick with a 2+ hour KZbin, but I stayed with this one to the end. I have a few musings, questions, and/or arguments I would like to present: 1) An infinite conciousness would be infinitely knowlegeable, and therefore have nothing to learn from itself because, being infinite, it already knows everything about itself. Valid? Invalid? Why, or why not? 2) If we do, for some inexplicable reason, maintain that a conciousness that is infinite does not also have infinite knowledge of itself, how would projecting fragments of itself into a vastly more limited 3 dimensional space-time reality, where our mathematics and physical science can only point to this infinitely complex overconsiousness in an imperfect, abstract sense, teach this infinite conciousness anything relevant about itself, that it doesn't already know? An roughly analagous scenario might be if I, as a person existing in 3 dimensional space, were somehow able to project myself into a 2D avatar on a flat sheet of paper, so that I could learn more about my own nature as a 3D being. What could I logically comprehend about my 3D existence while dwelling in 2D space, that I would not already know as a creature that actually exists in 3D space? For that matter, could I really understand ANYTHING about 3D space as a 2D creature? 3) Likewise, with regard to using this new understanding of conciousness (assuming this is a valid scientific theory) to unlock new science and explore the space-time universe that our avatars exist in: What value is that to the overconciousness? The overconciousness is the one projecting the space-time headset within itself, in the first place- including everything that it's avatars supposedly "discover". It already knows how to create these technologies, because they aren't technologies at all- merely representative icons that the overconciousness has evolved (according to Dr. Hoffman), in order to navigate the more complex hyperdimensional environment where it naturally exists. I might posit that as the conciousness is infinite, conciousness is all that there actually is, so there ISN'T any environment that the overconciousness exists in. Fair enough. But, again, what can a limited, space-time icon interface teach an infinite, free-floating conciousness about being an infinite, free-floating conciousness? This doesn't (in my opinion), make any sense. One thing is not a valuable frame of reference for the other. 4) On Amplituhedrons and other mathematical constructs: I want to be careful here, because I am not a mathematician. Indeed, I am quite bad at math and only possess a high school diploma, so I'm very far out of my wheelhouse here (if I can even be said to have a wheelhouse). Having said that, it seems to me that a mathmatical construct which shows that a thing can exist (according to mathematics) is not the same thing as proving that the thing that it models (even if the math is correct) actually exists. For example, the architect Freeman Dyson might build a mathematical model showing that a mega-structure large enough to encompass the sun and harness it's energy could be built and harness the sun's energy. The fact that it is mathematically possible to build this "Dyson Sphere" does not mean that one exists anywhere in the space-time universe, or that we will ever sucessfully construct one. 5) On the idea (as described by Dr. Hoffman) that killing your friend would be analagous to playing a video game and destroying your friends avatar within the game (no big deal, no real harm done. You just return to the overconciousness and get reincarnated in a new avatar). I do not share Dr. Hoffman's view on this scenario. I don't believe Dr. Hoffman (or anyone else) really believes this, either. If they do, they shouldn't be terribly bothered about some other fragment of themselves savagely raping and murdering one of their close friends or loved ones (nothing more than another avatar of themselves/the overconciousness after all). 6) One last musing: A frighteningly significant portion of the population of comprised of unimaginative, ignorant, brutes. One would think an infinite conciousness could construct more useful avatars for learning about itself. 7) Okay, ONE MORE musing: Animals, while perhaps not sapient, are at least conscious on "some" level. Are these avatars of the infinite consciousness? If so, and they are some abstract representation of our true selves, does this mean that when we eat meat we are, in a sense, engaging in a kind of cannibalism? What, precisely, would an infinite consciousness learn from this experience? I suppose it's clear that I am a sceptic of this theory, for all of the reasons above (and some others I might include, but this is already very much tl;dr). For context, I am an agnostic leaning heavily towards atheism.

Mr. Hoffman, I am interested in your thoughts on Conscious Agents outside of space/ time, such as obelisks might they be energy generators to hold a fixed set of dimensions possibly to hold specific fields of information, not all but a level that we can access but we can also go beyond in consciousness when we have the intelligence and understanding.

The thing about Re-Al-ism as a Re-Al-m is to consider the thing-king as a thought as the result - David Bohm or one's thought as part of the One consciousness being the trigger of that thing-king. "Are thoughts proprioceptive?" David Bohm

What are thoughts as ideas and concepts and theories and even assumptions as thoughts being brought into language or words abstracted from? It implies the wrong direction being Space-Time the fundament of our starting point within our existence. Is existence the same as consciousness although I write it differently? "Where do Intelligence and Consciousness meet?" My question 2015.

Surprised about non-inclusion of Ramanujan in this discussion. A Genius mathematician who claimed he received all the intel from a goddess. A supernatural source

I think that some of the lessons learned help form our base character and capacity to understand. This is why people exist at such different levels psychologically dispite age social economic backgrounds ect. This realm seems to be a classroom for the soul and we direct our own lessons. "until the unconscious is brought into the conscious we will let it direct our lives and call it fate". Carl Jung.

Quickly becoming my favorite channel. Thank you Andre for all these amazing interviews! I can't begin to tell you how inspired and fascinated I am at the deeper nature of reality and you're bringing it front and center.

I regret not knowing you before, Sir Donald Hoffmann. You are a genius and a saint!
@grosbeak61303 ай бұрын
You're easily impressed. Also he got many of his ideas from many other people. You just don't see them and are there by impressed with him particularly. But these ideas come from someplace, people who have had similar ideas before he was even born. So your conclusion that he's not only a genius but a saint is unfounded and naive.

@@grosbeak6130 I don't expect him to gave me a reference of how many other people's ideas he has used in his talk, though he did mention most if not all of them. What I am talking about here is his courage to go against colleagues conventional conclusions. To do that you have to be super smart and sincere in the pursuit of knowledge

I often think that our thoughts and words we speak are converted into mathematics and the universe is one big calculator. Our mathematical equations then go into this computer and reality is the result. The thoughts of the masses shape our reality as it contains more equations.

I don't think that we will ever understand what creates our reality, only learn more about how to manipulate it more precisely..

How so? How are words covered to math? And what makes you think the universe calculates that? You may be the calculator, nothing suggests any different given your input
@Iamhungryforribeye3 ай бұрын
So did you watch the video? Because he said math has not and cannot explain a single conscious experience. So not everything can be explained using math. It seems to be the construct that we live in but it is in no way everything.

Realism and Reality :: facts (events) are nothing by collectively objective agreements (if the agreementality for volition to it is present) based on each individuality's subjective perception and interpretation within the same 'situation'/event/phenomenon. IT IS THAT SIMPLE !

I agree with all the appreciation for André and Donald Hoffman that is expressed here. And I just want to add that I loooove the word SCHmystical. 😄Makes me smile every time he uses it (and as a non native speaker, I never heard the word before)
