I had a lot of trouble with attacking at first too until I saw a video saying to turn the music down/off, it could help since to have a good attack you need to hear the sound cue. This along with a good weapon and I think you’ll be good bro.

I know

since a sequel is planned by the developers of Ancestors, we'll likely FINALLY get to play as homo ergatus (and continue on until probally homo sapiens) so, bad or no tree climbing abilities, maybe a downside? but there's also the faster running speed and *enormous* stamina that any animal of the Homo genus would have, but the main problem is: in the game, you always played as a female (as far as i'm aware, since you are the one carrying all the babies) BUT any with less hair than a chimp or something (so basically, species of the genus Homo) would not be able to just let the babies grab their fur, because yknow, no fur, SO they would need to carry the babies, wich would make all the hunting and gathering and stuff gameplay impossible unless you play as a male.

You can already play as a male in the game. Both sexes can carry babies. As the human line developed bigger brains, the babies had to be born at an earlier and earlier stage of development so their big heads could fit through the birth canal. At the same time, their body hair was decreasing. Eventually babies were born so undeveloped that they couldn't hold onto their mother from birth and their mother lost the hair to cling onto, but at this point, humans were probably smart enough to tie the babies to their bodies.

You shouldn't get there until you become Australopithecus, also known as 'Lucy'.. they're better for the Savannah and you're already standing on two legs.. plus better temperature regulation since the Savannah can get super hot and can likely wear you and your clan down... You just gotta explore in the outward direction from your home at the start to get there.. the map is relatively long and lanky

Chill bro, it's a game Also, the apes from the very beggining of this game never really used sharp sticks, hell, i think not even the Australopithecus Afarensis, who are the last evolution in game. Random chance, you can get it with a random stone, you can get it with a spear.. higher odds with a spear, and spear does more damage overall.. but critical hits get more common the further along you get
