A lot of Marths just don't use counter because it's high risk for not always a great reward: if you miss it, you get punished hard, especially versus ZSS, one missed counter can be easily 35% plus.

Brawl is at a slower pace than Melee and SS64, as well as with lower hitstun. 4 stock matches would last entirely too long in Brawl, even though it's only one extra stock. 5 stock matches like in SS64 is out of the question. It's a matter of how the physics engine functions, really.

Actually, that is crap. First trip wasn't important. Second trip was unfortunate, but ZSS had already gained too much damage to be susceptible for a garanteed follow-up. And the third trip was the worst one I admit, but there was no room for a decisive punishment as the percentages were still low. Don't talk about the trips (and especially not about a Apex-conclusion, lol), talk about how Salem outplayed him most of the game, although Mikeneko came back effectively as well.
