I think the biggest problem is you have new players or long time players see someone do something and say “damn that’s cool and looks skillful I’d like to learn it and implement it” but then we find out it’s actually not skill at all it’s just binding movements to a certain key in your spare time and using that same movement in a press of a button flawlessly everytime without having to perfect the consistency that video games should require

It's actually pretty easy to fix games like Warframe already have disabled some of the steam config Features to provent people from using macross while still allowing you to rebind your keybines so for exemple you could block the access to the feature with the zero recoil while still keeping Tap straffing they just need to communicate with steam

Even if you only took the non movement configs this is still insane. The no recoil thing for example. It relies on an intended mechanic, which is recoil smoothing. This is supposed to make aiming easier while tracking a moving target (eliminating the recoil). Personally I think it shouldn't even be a thing to begin with.

The 1st thing they should have done is not reverse the Nerf to tap strafing that was in the game for only like 2 hours. If they want everyone on the same page and to not deal with configs and aim assist talks, they should have removed the lurch exploits. Then, it would be easier to balance the game and to call these configs cheating (which they are) without pushback about movement. If they had reacted sooner before there were "Movment gods" making videos and money on it, we would be in a very different and healthier place with the entire game.

@@ethandixon4257 Ok listen, the aa on pc is incredibly strong. To a point my tracking felt way stronger than console due to higher frames and other specs. Console also is strong but to a more understandable degree, I think with 120 fps update on console .2-.4 would make more sense. On pc you make a conscious choice to play on controller also you can still do most movement without configs. Supergliding, wall bouncing is still available and .2 would likely be more balanced because aa on pc is way too fuckin strong lol

Aim assist helps controller players on a joystick that loosens and tightens the more u use it. i've said it for a while: even if you went as far as removing all extraneous movement tech (including tap strafing), Apex would still have nearly unrivaled movement for a BR and would still feel better than a lot of other games as a MNK player who actually utilizes movement tech: I personally would be totally fine if ALL of the tech disappeared and that we added a way for controller players to move while looting.

It says so much about your character when you believe that any level of cheating is acceptable. Mnk has access to things that take skill often through massive amounts of practice. We don't all just have god tier aim, armor swapping, or movement. You watched itztimmy/faide/lemonhead and imagine us all like that, but they have 1000's of hour mastering their craft. Without aim assist, perfect tracking of a strafing traget isn't something you'll see, we have a max reaction time, your aim assist has a 0ms reaction time with massive pull. This is a shooting game and you already have built in hacks, now you're stacking onto it....unreal to think thats okat in any capacity.

This is exactly it. I remember watching lemonhead and being so inspired by his movement. Watched some movement tech videos, got in the firing range, and couldn't even begin to understand how he is doing what he does lol. It takes an incredible amount of skill to do what he does. They just don't realize how insane it is what they are able to do with the game. Reducing that skill gap to a button and they gloat lmao now we can do what you can do is literally just silly and they don't understand what they are talking about. To diminish that skill gap to a single button takes away what they are as players, the fun of movement being the skill it takes to achieve that, and turns it into everyone being lemonhead instead of these select incredibly talented players. They don't realize how much it literally is cheating compared to mnk. I can do some movement tech, but I'm not even sure how much it actually helps in game. As well, those movements are incredibly hard, you watch clips that took them many games to get something that looks sick, and you miss the stream where the movement player played multiple games to hours getting shat on, throwing the game for a clip, and the clip posted is hours of trying to get at the right time and place for it to look like he is next level cracked. There is a reason these movement players are not in algs and you don't see as much crazy movement and shit there. The risk/reward is not worth it. I feel removing the skill and turning it into a button would turn it into more of an advantage than what it is on mnk, where if it was allowed in algs you would see this crazy movement everywhere and mnk would truly be removed from it.

Movement is 100 percent better on controller on other games. A few years back, ppl started using wooting double movement software (yes the same wooting as the wooting he) to get analog movement to mimic controller 360 degree movement. Epic didn’t like this so they added the ability for kbm players to adjust their characters running angle to give them even footing as controller players

While it is wrong for controller player to use these configuration it is also questionable, when pro players use a 8 button mice with macro binding and only be using WASD on the Keyboard. Mouse setting in windows to mimic jitters

I've been playing on steam for 18 years at this point and even back in 2009 people were using macros and autohotkeys and scripts to basicly get aimbot without installing any cheats at all in counter strike 1.6 or hit perfect bunny hops! All of this is no news! Destiny 2 even just like 2 years ago had the same issue of auto hotkey aimbots that was literally just a macro that emulated mouse movements when specific colors were displayed on screen! You pressed the button, programm would look for color x/y and adjust your mouse position to be on target for you. Aimbot without installing any fishy cheats that mine bitcoins on your pc lmao... Razor synapse or logitech ghub offer basicly the same amount of depth as steam configs do!

It's not so easy to detect these kinda things unless you see someone using it live! Like I said the no recoil stuff is literally emulating mouse movement! EA can't ban you for moving your mouse eh... but they for sure can tell if someone is moving his mouse every 0,01 seconds for exactly 5 pixels and back to where the movement startet... They would have to ban all third party applications just like bungie did and you won't be able to stream the game in full screen mode anymore and basicly OBS would freak out at apex legends not allowing it to be used for like 12 months or so... Not sure how they gonna make this work but I hope they will get it asap!

Nah in Revengefuls case he was already goated when he was on Play Station! They should definitely do something about it though, but I guess it won't affect top players, a good players is good no matter what, but overall there is certain things that need to be addressed, like the aim assist being non compliant with distance for snipers for example, then it needs a nerf like to keep it in on pair with mnk, so instead of nerfing aim assist I think it needs a rework and these cfgs or scripts need to be adressed for sure as it is overpowered and takes away the competitiveness of the sport... Don't get me wrong but as an m&k player you shouldn't be allowed to have the best of both worlds, you should pick one and stick with it, aiming on m&k is really bad even if you practice your aim...

I've yet to hear controller players actually make claims that scripts, configs and so forth are 'fair'. Not one... I do however hear lots of MKB players whine about everything and anything despite cheating being a rampant problems on both interfaces. This isn't a singular issue with the actual medium to play the game, it is an issue with Respawns inability to properly moderate their games and I often see public figures repping MKB using these instances to push an agenda. Unless it's sorted, I give online FPS's 18 months then it will only contain cheaters. I'm not far off giving up on them and I've played Online since UT. I've not been a fan of single player games but this looks like the way to go for a satisfying game. I do not understand why the Developers are not responding to this problem, once us non cheating casuals leave the game, why they getting thier payback (cash) for developing the game ?

Superglides on roller are actually very easy to hit consistently, I do them probably 85% of the time on console, so he's most likely legit but as for tap strafe I know for sure are configs in steam

i have been saying this for years , there are so many abuser in asian servers and im tried of it . if steam is the place where u can use such configs, why not ALGS simply restrict only to EA app and possibly even restrict all the third party softwares including LGHUB , icue etc. i mean its their game right, they have to keep their integrity right. and regarding the fight among the community, i believe mnk and roller players dont hate each other blindly. its the inaction taken by respawn to ban or restrict such abuse of inputs to the game and probably profiting from it and kinda deflected their inability to address the issue towards the community. sure there are literal cheats and mods , but idk take riot for example their AC is good so why not use it or something like it. besides, many pros and streamers including urself said directly or indirectly controller is kinda has advantage over mnk even without any cheats or configs, and its the reason many people switched over to roller from mnk, if thats the case why not simply bring input based matchmaking so that roller only ties only roller lobbies and mnk with mnk likewise , unless u tick a checkbox similar to fill teams. also even with input based matchmaking , the stuff like this is making worse even among roller players who doesnt know much about configs and stuff and genuinely wanna play apex with what input they are comfortable with . wont it be fair enough to bring back some players back to mnk and balance the player counts over the entire PC lobbies. yes possibly the que times may be high but thats just due to lack of players which is caused by such irresponsible and complete idiotic decisions made by respawn in the first place. heck respawn is trying many stuff just why the f not try this once and see the reception. their game is not gonna die soon , so why not experiment on this too. in the end, apex has so many issues from the begining itself , most of which are not fixed still, and game will be fine if they dont bring any new issues itself.

Just remove aim assist completely, rollers can abuse configs and scripts, so they don’t need aim assist to compensate the difference. Another fact is that rollers can make crazy scripted movements while targeting you with 100% accuracy thanks to aimassist, with mnk more crazy you move less aim you get! It’s a shame that multiplayer pvp shooters are becoming like RTS games… Apex Legends is a FPS, and as such, you should need to be very very very skilled to aim properly one clipping (0-200dmg)15/20 players in one single match.. So the developers have to make a decision with the inputs, pad vs pad, mnk vs mnk, or, pad (deactivated aimassist) vs mnk. In this way no one is advantaged against the others.
