Because I use Input remappers to rebind, my controller binds to mouse and keyboard bindings. So that i can use gyro as mouse.

Amazing. I tried gyro before (map gyro to right joystick instead of mouse), and it’s shaking like hell. I think you must’ve been practicing a lot. Is that you map gyro to mouse so the game think you are on mnk? A bit off topic, I’m always afraid that if I map some buttons to mnk using steam config apex will ban me for this “mixed” input(in-game button layer keep changing from mnk and roller). But this should be legal right?

I practiced in aim trainers or single player games before playing multiplayer games. You can manage shakiness either through practice or trough software by using smoothing, acceleration, low or high sense, deadzones and placing your hands on the desk or your tighs for stability. None of this stuff should be bannable unless your trying to play in Apex tournaments, but this question is still very interesting since if you map the gyroscope to the right joystick you can still use the controller as usual but also get gyro in combination with aim assist which would be highly controversial(i think) if people would know about gyro aiming, but since its very niche its in this grey area. You wont get banned for using mixed input altough in this game using mixed input is probably not worth it since its broken as you said, it keeps flickering back and forth between the controller overlay ans the mnk overlay. You either go full controller or full mnk bindings( which is what i use) so no aim assist but better gyro response times and more keybinding freedom.

You cannot use gyro controls on the ps5 version of the game, since the developers did not add the feature into the game, even though the controller itself supports it. Im playing on the pc version, through input mappers such as Steam Big Picture Rewasd or JoyShockMapper, with those you can map your controller as a virtual mouse and keyboard and use gyro controls.

Hey i come from mobile gaming background i am gyro player, i have a small doubt will the gyro aiming feel the same or different or what are the difference u think will be there for aim / movement

I dont have much experience with gyro on mobile but the main difference is that your controller isnt tied to your screen this will change how it feels and what axis you will use to turn ingame. With controller Yaw feels better to use for me personally but if you use yaw on mobile your screen will rotate and it will be hard to watch. You are not tied to ingame gyro settings and can change more settings, to make it feel better. Bindings can be changed with steam input, Joyshockmapper, Ds4Windows or rewasd to whatever you want.

@@oldsnayon2368 Not quite, it works by having a dedicated button, to enable the gyro camera and when you need to reset your view again, because youre wrist ran out of range of motion. You can then use multiple ways to reset your hands/camera: Gyro ON (which is what i use): Works by having the gyroscope initially disabled, but is then enabled with some button press or by holding a button.(Gyro OFF is the reverse of this) Gyro always on : Work by having the gyroscope enabled all the time. This only works if you have an analog stick or a touchpad/trackball to counteract the motion to reset youre hands. Theres a few more methods but theyre more niche.

So, the game thinks you're using MnK? I can see the keyboard and mouse button prompts, E to open, mouse click to pick up, etc. How exactly is this working?

Yes, the game thinks im using a mnk setup, to do this you will have to connect the controller trough some kind of input mapper device (Ds4Windows, Joyshockmapper, Rewasd etc.). Im using the controller support from steam with Big picture Mode, with that you can configure keyboard and mouse bindings aswell as standard joyshock settings on the controller.

You cant, it hasnt been added yet. Its only possible on the pc version currently.

I use steam input to bind kbm buttons on the controller. This gives you more freedom in how you want to play, but i also did this so i dont get aim assist(its not needed with gyro aim).

@@seasons2of1 I‘ve setup my binds so that i kind do most of the advanced movement tech thats done normally on kbm, on controller aswell. Also stuff like instantly being able to use a specific item instead of the item wheel, can move while looting a deathbox and not having multiple binds on 1 button like the reload, interact which causes unwanted input, atleast for me.

Touching the touchpad enables the gyro, if i let go of the touchpad it disables itself then i reset my hands and enable it again. Just like lifting up your mouse and resetting it.

What about with aim assist? do aim assist not work when gyro mode is on? or does apex not recognize the controller? I'm considering buying a DualSense controller if the aim assists work with gyro.

I dont play with aim assist, because aim assist only exists because analog sticks are bad at aiming, which means gyro + aim assist would just be broken and shouldnt be enabled. The new fortnite update added gyro to the ps4 and ps5 version of the game and enableing gyro there disables aim assist. And keep in mind that you can currently only play on pc with gyro on apex, console version doesnt have it still.

@@lionofallah3441 i would recommend aim training in games like kovaaks or aim labs, there you can isolate aiming and movement and focus on improving with no pressure and video game bs on you (like drop rng, movement, recoil, screen shake, ability’s…etc.) this is the most chill way to improve imo. You can join the voltaic discord if you want, there are some spreadsheets to track your progress and play sceneraios that are useful.

@@lionofallah3441 You have to keep in mind, that if you’ve had a decent amount of experience in a specific multiplayer fps game, the game will match you with players that were on you skill level with a different input method (sbmm), this ontop of all the other thing will make it even more difficult to do well with gyro, for a while.
