The infamous LIVE hack of Genburten and ImperialHal + the awful greedy battlepass rollout (which they reverted due to backlash) hurt the games goodwill among a significant percentage of the community that left the game. I love Apex and I'll keep playing for the foreseeable future, but I don't blame anyone for leaving the game.

Having something in the game for players to grind for is a must. To help w Pubs: Add a universal skin for all legend by getting 1,000 kills in pubs and u can equip it on the legend u get the kills on. For Ranked: Add universal placements for each ranked like how they do when u hit pred. Like #1 platinum that comes w a badge. I would also say have a community section. If respawn is running out of ideas on how to progress the game reach out for help. Do a version of what fortnite is doing w custom maps n game modes made by the community and they can rotate once a month or even once a week.

No progression is what’s killing the game if they added a camo grind to the weapon mastery system , a legend mastery system to unlock unique badges , frames and skins for your legend that are exclusive to you grinding that legend and ofc outside of that other badges like win streak badges etc

My main issue is seasons are getting less content on launch, and almost all events are just some variation of revival now. It's so stale. I've stopped playing this year because of it. In season 9 we got a new weapon, new legend, new game mode with 3 custom maps, a major balance update and an Olympus map update. It also had a lore comic and several high quality animations to promote the new stuff. In season 23 we got a lifeline rework, no animations, no lore comics, and the one cool thing they did, OG Apex, got deleted after two weeks. The budget at respawn has obviously been massively slashed. Really sad to see.

3:50 there were no new guns in Apex legends in 2022, the seasons released that year were season 12, 13, 14, and 15, none of which added new guns. There was over a year long gap between the CAR, and the Nemesis. All those guns mentioned were added in 2021, in season 8, 9, 10, and 11. In the last two years we got the Nemesis, the charge rifle rework, and the akimbo p20 and mozams, and there was nothing like that in 2022, although there was the addition of laser sights.

Everything’s been downhill since the hack back in April. However it seems Apex was forced into an “Operation Health” if you played Seige back then. Which I think will benefit the overall health and balance of ranked, and classes.

I'd like to say one thing. I feel like apex get a ton of hate, and some of it is well deserved. But say what you want. Apex is one of if not the best and most competitive first person shooter BR's to ever exist. I fell in love with the game because the servers and hit reg felt amazing. The ability and character lore was a nice touch. And let's be honest if you die with 200hp-225hp in a gun fight you made a mistake somewhere. Apex will always hold a sweet spot for me. And even if the community dogs on this game I will always respect it and it's content creators. Thanks for all the love and all the good times all ❤

Something I think they can do to get players back or keep players playing. The game is have a set of challenges. People can grind every season and you can receive 50 air shards. If you complete all the challenges by three seasons, you’ll be able to afford an heirloom, but they probably won’t do something like that because they’re too cheap

Apex is dying and it's not coming back. Sbmm is apex's biggest problem and has been for years. People don't want to put in 110% effort every game. But with the playerbase shrinking, and sbmm being as strict as it is, every game is the ALGS. On top of that, EA has been working on a battlefield br. If that doesn't tell you what you need to know, I'll elaborate. They don't want apex to survive. EA is intentionally milking every last cent out of the playerbase until they drop their new br. Then they'll kill apex so they don't have to compete with themselves.

They should add Arenas back, but with a create-a-class system and objectives, like Arenas S&D or Hardpoint. This will allow them to have all the weapons be playable on Arenas so that they can safely vault them from br if needed. I don't think Arenas should have a ranked mode again, but a competitive mode like s&d would be pretty fun in Apex. I feel like having a Arenas ranked mode put too much stress on the dev team because they had to maintain some sort of competitive integrity for both modes. This is coming from a huge Arenas hater, just because I hated only doing 3v3. It got old very quick and I feel like having Arenas as a casual playground to try out weapons, legends, and new gamemodes would be a nice change for this game.

I am increasingly convinced that the majority of players left Apex Legends because of the monetization changes. While the monetization system before was tolerable, the changes in 2024 crossed the line, alienating the player base. However, I believe this issue is part of a broader picture: a shift in priorities from Respawn and EA. The focus on pro players and streamers, while understandable given their influence, often results in decisions that are out of touch with the average gamer. Pros and streamers operate on an entirely different level, shaped by the sheer number of hours they dedicate to the game. Their perspective doesn’t translate well to the typical player's experience. On the flip side, catering only to casual players risks alienating the niche pro and streamer community, which keeps the game visible and relevant. Striking a balance between these groups is critical, but Respawn seems to have missed the mark. More troubling is the sense that Respawn and EA knew this alienation would occur. These companies have a long history in gaming; they understand what keeps a game thriving. The problem isn’t incompetence-it’s a deliberate pivot in priorities. Apex Legends, once a flagship title, no longer seems to be a priority for EA. Why? That’s the question. One possible explanation is that Apex may have underlying issues-potentially even security vulnerabilities-that Respawn and EA are unwilling to fully address. This is speculative, of course, but it’s not entirely implausible. Another possibility is that EA has simply shifted its focus to other projects or more lucrative ventures, reallocating resources away from Apex. Games like Battlefield or EA Sports FC (formerly FIFA) may offer a higher return on investment or align more closely with EA's long-term strategy. Ultimately, it seems that Apex is being treated as a game that’s no longer “convenient.” While it’s unlikely the developers want to kill the game outright, their actions suggest that they’re not as invested in its future as they once were. Apex still has one of the best core gameplay systems in the genre, but without significant reinvention or a renewed focus on progression and player engagement, it’s hard to see how it can recover.

Talking year in review - I literally think one of the main reasons apex is dying is because of map rotation. I never see this brought up, but in the past a new map was essentially their new cod coming out this year. It was the biggest possible update they can do, make the game feel fresh, player count goes way back up, and this was the first new map added with the 3 day map rotation. When it came out it was not the same level of hype, despite it being a great map and generally loved, after you play it for a day you then have to play the same old aggravating worlds edge or kings canyon. It was such a buzzkill. What should be their biggest update turned into literally feeling like the stale same game 66.7% of the season. This reflected in feedback, player count did not go up the same, you had the same complaints, if you play the game a lot it was painful that what was gonna be such a new and fresh season felt the same because the new thing is not in rotation. With this map rotation a new map is now a minor update compared to how it should be their new cod release. I think they should have made ED at least the ranked map for the entire split and they would have got their flowers for doing such a good job on it. If a new map isn't that big update, I literally don't know what they can do new for the game to market it in the future in that same way. On top of that it does feel like BR's are just dying. No one knows yet what the meta for shooters will be next. Apex could either wait and adapt, or go back to the roots and make a more titanfall like game that can be their cod to warzone. It would add new players, have a more casual experience where sbmm can work better with limited lobbies. Ranked to make it competitive. I think that's what the game really needs. Also not mentioned, is the console 120 fps update. This was long asked for and finally came. I don't play console, but that is the biggest playerbase. I'm 90% sure other games are just lying to their customers like cod, the players seem to think they are getting 120 fps and they actually getting 60. It's just not possible to have graphics mass setting on these games and get 120 fps on their specs. This gave console players an unrealistic expectation of what 120 fps would look like, so when it came out I saw mostly negative feedback on that, which had to have driven console players away.

Apex's core gameplay came from Titanfall & BOTH of those games are dead. secondly, Apex's gameplay is a DOWNGRADE from Titanfall, so it does not have the best gameplay. Third, the engine & server issues make the hit detection in Apex terrible. in 90% of gunfights, people miss half of the bullets they fire & they almost always have to pull out their pistol or secondary to finish people off because the hit detection is so bad. at least in Fortnite, people can actually hit what they're shooting at. in Apex half your shots miss or they hit & show a visual indication that the bullet hit, but no damage is done because the server didn't register the shot. you COULD say git gud, but i'm a day-0 diamond rank Apex player. (i barely play ranked, if I did i'd be higher rank) so I know how to play the game. its just ass now, which is why people are leaving. the whole idea of "ApEx WiLl NeVeR DiE bEcAuSe iTz dA BeZt !!!1111!1!" is the type of delusion that killed off both Titanfall games in the past & will kill off this game also. the players keep telling the devs this, so they feel no need to improve the game, while competitors in the genre slowly improve & surpass it in quality & player count. you can make fun of Fortnite & Marvel Rivals all you want, but those games will slowly march right past Apex, not because they're better, but because the devs don't take their popularity for granted & they actually improve their games instead of ignoring fans & releasing endless collection events while not fixing core issues with the game.

I started playing this game when edistrict was released, and I'm still really enjoying it. The community is demotivating, though. Everybody complains so goddamn much. You can tell a lot of people around here are forcing themselves to play a game they don't even enjoy anymore, and they drag everyone around them down with their miserable attitude. We need to normalize being proactive and migrating to other games when it's your time, instead of making it everybody elses problem by being an unbearable loser. Yh I lost a lot of love for this game , it’s just too many things going wrong and although they Have fixed some things they mainly just put more cosmetics in , just money grabbing with no care about the people who play the game and what they want! Since I have a lot of kills I won’t quit but I don’t enjoy it too much anymore ❤

I dont want more than 1 legend a year anymore its to much lol or you can add skirmisher at least they dont scan you and stun you or block you etc skirmisher should be the only new type of legend added to the game
