Okay so... this is just a random thought. Foxes are commonly known to have red fur and female foxes are called vixens. They're also known to be tricksters. Cady is a ginger and the play and movie both compare the people to animals based on behavior and appearance. The lines "but she doesn't know yet" and "how can you outsmart..." reminded me of the phrase "outfox the fox" which means to outsmart an already clever person which is something Cady did. She infiltrated the plastics and tricked them and took Regina's power in the process. I made it way too long... my only point is that Cady is a vixen. It's probably just coincidence but I just wanted to point it out.

In my eyes, especially in this song and animatic, Cady was taken under Regina’s wing. In the animatic, when Cady was staring at those girls, Regina looked at those girls with a mean look, which made them leave. I believe she seen potential in Cady, and did that for her. While a lot of people see her as a villian, I think she’s misunderstood. She was misunderstood so much, she started acting like people seen her. Mean, but beautiful. So when she seen Cady, she seen a loop to turn it around, but it backfired as Cady seen this as protection.

I think you completely missed the song, Katie is a child of biologist hence the nature comparisons, and Regina George kind of runs the show in the film, she's manipulative and beautiful and vain, the mark of a villian, although she's human. I think you could compare Janis to a guard dog. She could tell trouble when she smelled it, she warned her "owner" (friend) to protect her, and she is aware of things most people at the school aren't (like a dogs ability to smell and hear better than humans.). She also stays out of the way, unless it involves her and her friends. Just like a guard dog would be ok with family, but not a burglar. She didn't force Caddy to stop, she just urged her to. If you tell a guard dog to lay off, they will. And when she turns on Caddy, it was because she was helping the enemy in her eyes, like If a burglar and the victim both hurt the dog. She may seem non threataning at first, but if you get on her bad side- you get *hurt* .

No. Regina was both a tyrant and cruel enough to spitefully manipulate Aaron to get back together with her (Someone Gets Hurt) after learning of Cady's crush. Then Janis and Damien encourage her to get revenge and knock her off her throne for hurting her like that (Revenge Party). Cady right here is developing an admiration for Regina's power, and she knows she wouldn't be safe if she went after Aaron. She is revelling in the power of being with her but knows it comes at a cost (that she can't go after Aaron despite them both enjoying math and getting along, and that Regina doesn't know yet). She isn't looking to dethrone her yet, because she hasn't been hurt by her yet, she is in fact enthralled by her and foolish enough to think she is really being her friend (note, those high heel shoes shown, are ones Regina purposely got Cady to make fun of her behind her back that she couldn't walk in them, Gretchen admits so later in the play during one of the Revenge Party sequences). The pink in her eyes is a foreshadowing to the point however that Cady will go powerhungry herself and become the same type of tyrant she saw Regina as, putting on an act to get what she wants out of Aaron, accusing Janis of having the problem in the same way Regina had in the past, acting to Gretchen and Karen in similar ways. She goes against Regina because she hurts her, she makes fun of her behind her back, and because she is encouraged to, by the people she trusts. But she spirals out of control later despite Damien and Janis trying to stop her.
