No experience with the Apex Pro, but I have the Vertex 4 leg and apparently it's as stable as the Apex Pro Max (which has crossbar; Vertex does not). Probably because of the solid beam vs the adjustable beam. My frame is super heavy. I'm on lament flooring with an 80"x36" walnut top and it barely moves. Carpet definitely makes stability worse, but I don't have carpet anymore (had it removed before I got the desk), so I have no way to know how it would compare (other than Desk Huas saying stability is Vertex 4 Leg > Apex Pro Max > Apex Pro > 2 leg desks).

Thanks for the video, Aaron, you helped me decide to get it =) How many people did you need to flip it after building it? Mine is a 72" pro max and it's heavy af!
@AaronWChen3 жыл бұрын
My brother helped me out! We had to communicate the flipping and rotation ideas because it is obviously too heavy to try to do it as you flip. I hope you managed to move it safely

Hey Aaron, nice review. Now, that you’ve had the Apex Pro desk for a few months, are you happy with the standing height stability?
@AaronWChen2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kelly! Yes, very much so. I keep adding stuff to the desk and it's been rock solid stable! I even use an under desk treadmill with it lately and it doesn't seem to react to me leaving my hands on the desk, keyboard, or notepad while I'm walking and working. I had even picked up an Ikea Bekant from the As/Is section for cheap to use at my brother's place and it is definitely not as stable. The Bekant starts wobbling not too much higher than my sitting height, which is really saying something since I'm only 5'4"! This maple butcher block/Apex Pro desk is easily the nicest furniture I've ever owned. No, Deskhaus is not paying me, haha.

@@AaronWChen Thanks for your response. Just so you'll know, I've been considering Apex Pro for a while but it was YOUR video that convinced me to purchase it, so maybe they should sponsor you. In fact, it just arrived yesterday and I'll be setting it up sometime next week. Do you have any suggestions for assembly or cable managment? I'm currently considering this solution from Steelcase: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWPUl2SIrMiiipY Thanks!
@AaronWChen2 жыл бұрын
@@idealynx I'm sorry I didn't get to this til now! Honestly, my cable management has only really used what came with the Apex Pro legs, but I had wanted to get a cable shelf to mount underneath to help tidy things up. The Steelcase thing you linked looks AWESOME! Did you end up getting that?
@idealynx2 жыл бұрын
@@AaronWChen @Aaron W. Chen The only thing I purchased is the German-made cable snake that Deskhaus sells. I really like the Steelcase Universal Cable Management kit I posted above, but dealing with Steelcase is a pain. Getting the kit is no problem, but if you want to get the the powerstrips that slide into the kit it's a royal PITA. Basically, you have to go through a dealer and the price for just the two powerstips is $176-$210, depending on the configuration. Great idea. Poor distribution network and way too expensive.

Would it all hold on the top of the desk and not brake down.

I just bought the base during the holiday sale, and it can support 400+ lbs as it's stated... The base is perfectly fine, just make sure the tabletop you choose won't bow or deform under that weight... From what I've seen, with the supports, I don't think that will be an issue any time soon.
@AaronWChen Жыл бұрын
Sorry to not reply, but I've had 3 monitors on my desk (one of them is a very heavy monitor) and things seem to be fine! Both with legs and tabletop (minus a dent i made when I dropped a camera on the tabletop)

how many mounting holes/screws are there connecting the base to the top? I just finished building a big walnut dining room table top I plan to mount to this base but am going to use threaded inserts in the bottom of the table and hex bolts through the base to secure it rather than just screwing straight into the wood. Just wondering how many inserts/bolts I need to buy.

Do the feet slides/"floaty things" hurt its stability much? And how much do they help for repositioning?
@AaronWChen2 жыл бұрын
Ah, sorry it took so long to respond! I'm confused what feet slides/"floaty things" you mean: i have those disc slides but I only used them to move the desk into position, otherwise it's way too heavy to lift or drag haha. Once the desk is in position, i do my best to left the desk just high enough to kick the feed slides out. Those moving disc slides (which you can get from HD or a hardware store) are immensely helpful and I keep them in my "homeowner's toolkit" now =D
@ephemeraldgames2 жыл бұрын
@@AaronWChen That is what I meant, you called them floaty things in the video :) Well I ended up putting together my apex pro and have slides underneath it now, so nice to be able to spot move around the desk and it doesn't seem to affect stability at all, maybe even makes it better. Was trying to choose between these and casters and glad I didn't go with casters! thanks for the reply though!

Been really liking it! Thinking of taking it apart to oil it down since it's been like 2 years. I did make a slight ding in the surface when i dropped my camera on it, but probably because i opted for a very light finish instead of something more durable from the manufacturer (the butcher block was from home depot)

Short, haha. I went for the extended legs because the minimum height of the extended legs is the ergonomically recommended height for me. If I got a footrest under my desk, I could've gone for a regular height range.
