In this day and age....would you keep what you have and put some money into it....or trade in on a new car or truck?

If you are lucky enough to get a vvti Land Cruiser you keep it forever because it was made to last.

Im an auto tech of 35 years. so I hope it helps. 1 the bulb on the rear turn signal on the hatch is out. the inner one. Also it looked as if you you used 2 different oils. The big container was extend performance mobil 1 and the small bottles looked to be advanced fuel economy. just for future reference. Also should always fill up the oil filter with oil even at an angle it can still be filled most of the way. to prevent a dry start up. Hope it helps

You are really making up for lost time due to your injury. ..and doing a super job at that! Enjoying the new format Brian. As informative and real as always, but with an extra something in vehicle value. Keep it rolling.

Yeah, here in my area of Wisconsin, the prices are unaffordable, either new or used. Unfortunately, people are paying the high prices and some are getting in trouble. Some of the folks I know are buying because of status. Its pretty cool that your flipping cars and making a alittle money, but I can tell that you're really enjoying the process and the work. I would, too. If I find the right car, I'm going to give it a try. Keep the great content/videos coming. I really enjoy them, Brian.

The rear signal has two fixtures for the rear. Two bulbs. Recommend checking both.

I also live in PA, and sadly my engines usually outlast the frame. Have to be hyper-vigilant about salt protection. Fluid film, NH oil, can’t be shy about it if you want it to last. Great vid as always.

For the bulb issue, usually replacing the bulbs mitigates the issue for me.

If it's a bulb, sometimes the filament breaks and shorts out causing the blinking.

Brian when you said "it's good there" it wasn't blinking on the turn signal next to the headlight. Check that ... when they blink fast the car is trying to tell you a bulb is burned out or going bad.

@@apexdetail85 Nice work Brian. I have a small channel that focuses on making your cars last 300,000 miles... no joke. What you talked about today about the price of cars just makes me more convicted than ever to get people to make their cars last!

When someone puts an LED style bulb into a car that doesn't have the ballast, the bulb flashes rapidly because the current drawn by a LED bulb is less than a standard bulb. The car's computer reads it as an error and causes the light to blink rapidly.

The crunched tail light on the left also had a turn indicator bulb in it from what I saw on the right. That bulb missing will cause the fast blink.

My cars normally last more than 10 years with good care with proper changes and maintenance. My Kia Sedona I had it from 2002 to 2020, Mitsubishi Montero from 92 to 2002, Mitsubishi Champ 80 to 92, Volvo 145s deluxe blue station wagon standard transmission from 1970 to 1989, Volkswagen Jetta III from 1992 to 2002 Rust proofing vehicles is a big issue in the northern states and many people don't give a crap about them and then you see several used car lots in southern states obviously not being able to sell those vehicles.

I retired in '12 and for my retirement gift i purchased a brand new '12 Ford Taurus Limited smothered in red candy metallic clearcoat fully loaded which was Ford's flagship at the time. I don't like car payments so i paid cash for it which kinda surprised the salesman. To date this has been the best vehicle I've ever owned. The ride and comfort is insane and at times it doesn't even feel like I'm driving it. Its been garaged kept its whole life and just the other day turned over 35k miles. More than likely this will be the last vehicle I own because there's nothing else out there that really appeals to me. I wanted a vehicle in my old age that was very comfortable and easy to get in and out of plus it's got plenty of horsepower for me.

Would love to know your thoughts on diesels. Porsche Cayenne made them 2013-16 I believe and quit due to VW shenanigans. They have been extremely popular along with Range Rover D's on BAT. Most auctioning in the 50-90 K miles, but interesting.

Went today and test drove a 2022 Ram TRX. Basically 3 years old with 38,000+ miles. Dealership wouldn't budge on the price though it's been on the lot for 3 months. The prices are too high and the salesmen aren't hungry enough.

One bulb may have been replaced with a Incompatible LED bulb that may be causing the hyper flashing. If and when you decide to sell the Lexus, it will “fly” off your hands. That would be an awesome replacement to my 2002 Escalade.

Wrong bulb (LED pr other), bulb out. Missing bulb. Should have been one in the outer headlight assembly too I think. (Left side) compare to right front light.

Ppl are NOT maintaining vehicles. Car payments are too high & they can't afford to OR they land up getting repossessed. Hence, auto auctions. I'd never buy a used car unless I KNOW the owner. On that swift turn signal, maybe part of the bulb element is burnt out. Like parking lights but flasher (bright) bulb is fine.

People need to be aware of the EV black hole. Supposedly by 2035 everyone will have to buy an EV. The trade-in/resale value on an EV is way less than half of the purchase price, and the durability is very poor. If we're being forced into these things, smart people will be picking up an ICE vehicle now.
