Brian you and Scott from Dallas paint correction should do a video together on how y'all started in the detailing profession.
@Piglet6256

So the process for a paint correction is try a test area with the softest polishing foampad and check if that gets the desired result? if not try a heavier cut foampad on a different area, check result again (change along compound/polish with more cutting performance offcourse) so on till you get the desired result? Then do the whole car using what worked? is that the way to go generally? doesnt this cause uneven sections in paint thickness? Also my cars paint is still in really good shape except 3 or 4 spots with some minor scratches (in the clear coat), so i assume i compound just THOSE spots and then polish the WHOLE car before applying protection? or would you say still compound the whole car to keep the clear coat even over the car? Really enjoyed the video!! tnx

Hi Brian, Please, could you tell me the average time does 2 step correction required? I have started offering some paint enhancements/corrections and coating, but some people are criticize me about the time I take to finish the job. 2 step correction takes me about two days and a half including paint decontamination. Is it to much? Please I need your kind advice.

I have a black 2013 Ford Taurus limited with 160k miles on it. Don't know the history of the paint. It hasn't been painted or corrected since I've owned it with 90k miles on it. I plan on using it for my first paint correction. I'm going to use the rupes system with the yellow blue and white foam pads to keep it simple to prevent any irreversible mistakes. I did purchase a few yellow wool pads just in case it's a little more stubborn. The paint has ALOT of swirls and some deep scratches that I'm going to try my best to minimize. Any tips before I give it a try would be appreciated.

@Apex Thanks for your videos! I accidentally sanded a rock chip too much while trying to fix it. Now I have a penny sized hole down to the primer (white), surrounded by a 2 inch base coat area, surrounded by a 5 inch sanded clear-coat area. This is on my bonnet. What is the recommended course of action (can it be done with a touch-up pen of base-coat and another of clear)? Much appreciate your expert opinion.

HELP PLEASE So I recently switched from my rotary DeWalt to rupes 15 inch with 6 " pad Dual polisher Watched bunch of videos and techniques Using blue and yellow rupes pad and blue compound and yellow polished. Took time with one panel . Washed , claybar , sanded gently with 3000 Did step one and two , slow motion , overlap the whole 9 yards And it looked absolutely stunning .....BUT 3 days later I saw it on the sun and 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 Scratches ( spider ) everywhere, color next to the door I didn't do was too dull as if I am looking through the fog .... I am open to any suggestions and pointers . Understand it is hard without seeing me working it but I figure I would ask anyway . Thank you

From what I gathered, very confusing as each panel or area of the car had different pads and compounds. What combo worked for the whole car? And why show what steps were taken on a hood that wasn’t on the actual Colorado? When I want to paint correct a car, I want to know a process for the whole car, not different processes on different sections.
