germany has the biggest ultra scene, even in the lower leagues. 2013 Hansa Rostock vs RB Leipzig over 6000 Rostock fans came to Leipzig to support their team in the 3rd (!!!) league.

LOK vs babelsberg was 4th league, thats why Its a small stadium. The fight was because Babelsberg threw a bottle full of piss to the LOK fans, so they came over. But the real reason is Babelsberg is far left and LOK is far right.

The Reason why the Hertha Berlin fans were fighting against vs the Police and security was because of the police wanted to take a Banner of the Hertha Fans. If u are in into fan culture u know, that getting ur banner stolen is the most embarrsing thing that could happend ever. Most Fan groups disolve after that. It was just stupid of the police/security bc they HAVE to know, that things would escalate. Greetings from Berlin, Germany

You don't get it as an American :D Our country wasn't a whole country until like the end of the 19th century, but we've been a lot of states talking the same language.we lost 2 wars, have been split up again.We are "the bad guys" for the whole planet, because that's what is tought in schools everywhere.The only thing we're allowed to be proud of by our own government is our hometown football club ;)

Babelsberg 03 - LOK Leipzig The guests are in fact Lokomotiv Leipzig (in Europe, the guests comes always after the home team in the scores). This is a German 4th league game (so 3 ranks below Bundesliga). It happens in Potsdam, a town near Berlin. Babelsberg is a neighborhood in Potsdam, which also gave the name to the club. I don't know if there is a specific reason for this fight, but Babelsberg has a strong left and antiracist/antifascist identity, and so are the fans. On the other hand, the fans of Lokomotiv Leipzig are notorious for the far-right tendencies. So that can explain the animosity.

in germany we need no excat reason to fight. Its also not the game we are looking for, its more the journey, the fight with the police, throwing pyro and make some noise. But all in all its a fair game, when you fight each other , you can knock someone down, hit him again in the face, but in the end you bring this guy also to the hospitel, if he is hurt to much, no one should die, only if its a support of RedBullLeipzig, than you can also beat women and childern, and every german support, dosnt matter what club he is, will confirm this!
