He said that he mixed his tracks at a higher RPM because it lets you fit more tracks on one LP, he intended some tracks to sound good at 33 or 45rpm. He can speed up 5 tracks to fit on a 4 track LP then you play at a lower speed.

i had never thought to keep the pitch the same with this one, i actually mixed it down at this speed, not tempo, and it always seemed a bit too low.. - but i really like it like this, it inspires me to experiment more with different pitch/tempo combo-modifications. it certainly feels great to hit that 'sweet spot' in a song like this.. the pacemaker plugin for winamp is a wonderful tool for such experimental applications, its worth checking out if you are into this kinda stuff. best wishes. ✰
