So I guess we can all thank capitalism Richard has to earn his living by touring and making records. He would probably prefer a life without all of that while still being able to make music most of the time. Then, he would have been known only in close circles as some sort of electronic music wizard and gearhead. I wonder how many insanely talented people actually live quiet lives, staying relatively or completely unknown. I'm sure that there are some.

On the contrary, today's so called artists are to blame. The will sell their soul to be in the limelight, doing as many interviews as possible and dumbing their music down as much as possible to gain greater commercial appeal. There are no real artists any more like Aphex and countless others of yesteryear. These days most "artists" actually refer to their music and art exclusively in terms of a product or "their brand" as they call it.
