Omg. Finally another 4c natural with my exact scalp shape. People think I've lost my edges or something, but that's legit how my hair grows. lol. Very educative video, thank you. I just ordered it and was looking to get instructions on how to use it.

This is THE BEST video about Aphogee on KZbin. ❤️
@FlairelleNet7 жыл бұрын
I kept losing inches throughout the year with breakage and massive shedding and Aphogee really made my hair stronger. I did not know about the heat though and let it air dry. YOurs looked white. The one I used looks like apple juice and I use the same ORS Clarifying shampoo before as well. It is a go to in desperate measures. I apply it with a spray bottle though because passing my hands through my already detangled hair is a no no with this product. Great tips and I got a lot of info that I did not know before

The camera was just washing it out. It look like apple cider (not vinegar). I agree on aphogee as a go-to when desperate. It really is one of those products that can do more harm than good when used excessively. I'm so delighted that the video was helpful. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience. All the best with your hair journey :-)

Hi guys! After losing about 3 inches of length to heat damage, I’ve incorporated the Aphogee 2 step protein treatment to repair any unseen structural damage on the remaining strands. This is the first of three treatments that I will do this year, spaced out in 8-9 weeks. Aphogee is a heavy protein that could wreck havoc on your cuticles if not used properly or when used too frequently on natural hair. The key here is moderation. If your natural hair hasn’t experienced trauma, once or twice a year is enough to repair any normal wear and tear or element-related damage. If used to repair trauma (like heat damage), frequency will vary based on the kind and duration of the trauma. A moisturizing deep conditioner is an absolute must after because the protein treatment will completely dehydrate your hair. Water is not a sufficient moisturizer so use the complementary conditioner that comes with the protein treatment or one that your hair is agreeable to. Alright! Let's get our hair back to healthy status :-)

I love your voice. I’m a natural 4c myself and I’ve used the 2 step for years and it works wonders. I find it hilarious how much you explain how cautious you need to be with this product and its ingredients like it’s some nuclear material. 🤣🤣 it’s not that serious. How long hate you been natural?
@IjeomaThePlantMama6 жыл бұрын
I've seen people use this and have their hair break off because they wrapped it in bantu knots instead of leaving it loose to dry. So yes, if you're brand new to using ingredients like this (which some viewers may be) it is serious.

Really nice video! I'm trying to understand the difference between the 2 Step Protein Treatment and the 2 minute Keratin Treatment. Are these separate treatments?
@Bijecarli2 жыл бұрын
Yes they are. I believe the Keratin treatment is for those who wish to still straighten their hair regularly. I could be misinformed, but I do know for sure they aren't the same type of treatment.

Try a Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein Treatment It has the same great benefits of an Aphogee Protein Treatment but minus the smell👃🏾and harsh chemicals. GreenBeautyChannel has a full video on it and sells it on her website. I'm 4C as well and I've been using it about 2 1/2yrs and it strengthens my hair without the dry rough feeling a few days later like Aphogee gives my strands. Hope this helps

Thanks for the tip! I love GreenBeautyChannel and will check out the wheat protein as as substitute to aphogee. I just purchased veggie based keratin that combines the aminos keratin but harvested from soy, wheat, rice and quinoa. I'm experimenting with a light protein treatment.

Another great video. I'm seeing that ppl are putting vicks vapour rub on their scalp for stimulating hair growth. Can you make a video about this please.
@duchessgabrielle7 жыл бұрын
They are after the methol in the vicks, which you can easily find in eucalyptus, peppermint or spearmint. Basically the menthol stimulates blood flow by creating that tingling sensation on the scalp, which kind of "wakes up" hair follicles. Vicks is mostly mineral oil and some menthol. You'll be far better off with an oil and any essential oil from the mint family to make your own mix.

Hi So I love your accent! I have a question so I recently went natural its been 8 months and I noticed I have two textures some curls and some straight strands. I'm not sure why I have straight strands if I cut all it off 8 months ago. I noticed that my hair is very brittle and dry as if I had relaxed hair and I keep getting fairy knots. Im new to all of this becuse Ive tried every product and it makes my hair stift and dry. Any advice? I want to try out this treatment and Im also anmeic too so maybe that plays a role too.
@anishabaptiste75327 жыл бұрын
I used to get fairy knots, i got rid of mine by stretching my hair while it dries. I used to do wash n go’s all the time and letting my hair air dry just out in the open gave me so many knots, you’ll have to cut them out and put your hair in twists when its drying.

If I use gelatine instead would it have the same affect ? Cuz it has hydrolized protiene greenbeauty channel and naptural85 both have a gelatine mask. I wonder if I make it with oils emolients and conditioner to soften the hair would that impare the protiene absobtion. Do you need the salts to get the protiene in? I have bleached blond hair so realy looking for a good protiene mask. But of I can make it without the chemical that would be preferably...But I do need it to work.
@IjeomaThePlantMama6 жыл бұрын
You can follow the gelatin recipe offered by Naptural85, but it will not be as strong without the Magnesium Sulfide, and you may need to do it again in a few months if you have severe breakage

Sorry to asked such an ignorant question, but I am a little confused on the disulfide bonds. Do you have more disulfide bonds if you have a certain hair color? Ex., darker hair (like black) have more disulfide bonds then lighter hair (link blonde). Or are you saying the more texture you have in your hair the more disulfide bonds you have. ex., Those with coily/kinky hair have more disulfide bonds then those with straight/wavy hair. Or is it both?
@duchessgabrielle7 жыл бұрын
There is no such thing as an ignorant question Kenisha. I'm glad you asked. Let's start from the beginning. Hair is made up of protein called keratin, which is similar to a lot of proteins in the body except keratin has a high quantity of cysteine. Cysteine is a sulfur-based amino acid. The keratin peptides are linked to each other in a network that uses cysteine (particularly sulfur molecules) resulting in the hair strands. They are called disulfide because you have two sulfur molecules (and some organic residue) linking with the keratin peptides. This linkage is what forms the disulfide bonds, which gives hair it's physical appearance and tensile strength. The higher the amount of disulfide bonds as well as the degree of the bond, the more curls the hair has. Using this information, we can logically conclude 4c texture has the highest amount of disulfide bonds while straight hair has the least. So yes, you are right. Those with with coily/kinky hair have more disulfide bonds than those with straight/wavy hair. However, straight hair does have some disulfide bonds but not enough to create a curl pattern hence the hair is straight. The color pigmentation has nothing to do with the disulfide bonds when hair is in its absolutely natural state. However, highly alkaline dyes especially ones with metal residue could destroy the disulfide bonds, which is how dye jobs damage the hair. I hope that makes sense but if not please ask away.
@kenishawhite48747 жыл бұрын
DuchessGabrielle Thank you so much for taking the time out to explain this to me. Now I understand. So our disulfide bond is what is damaged or broken when we get heat damaged, chemical treatments, or color our hair correct? So is it safe to say that disulfide bonds are the first level of protection of your hair strands? Since I found out that there are a couple of layers to hair and its structure
@duchessgabrielle7 жыл бұрын
The keratin fibers are encased in multiple layers of organic matter, each serving a specialized function from housing color pigments (which give hair it’s natural color) to delivering sebum and protecting the keratin fibers from damage. This is the order of enclosure: keratin fibers - protofibril - microfibril - cortex - cuticle. All the layers will have some elements of keratin in them but the actual fibers are protected in the core. Depending on genetic coding, some people might not have the medulla or one layer might be thinner than the other. This is where the strand will get its diameter, which determines how thick your hair is. Hope that makes sense.

@@lobsterhammock1404 .....the aphogee treatment in this video appears to be white. The one I bought recently at a beauty supply store was a little on the brown side. Did they change the formula or is the beauty supply selling fake products? Update: please ignore. I found the answer on the Aphogee website.
