i use them both i like them both. the difference that i notice is that when i use the API one it makes my water very cloudy for the first 15-20 minutes but it goes away pretty quick. the clarity does not make it as cloudy so it makes it look like the clarity is better but for me its about the same. i get whichever is on sale.. but since i added purigen on my canister i have not needed to use clarity or accu-clear

I’m currently experimenting on my 125g that is under filtered. I used API AC on first dose. It formed a huge cloud like Stability did in your experiment. AC actively worked throughout the day clearing and fogging and then cleared up significantly after several hours. The following morning, it reverted completely and was just as cloudy before I started dosing. At this time I added an overpowered gyre pump and applied a second dose of AC. The tank is as clear as it’s ever been since I started it 4 months ago. The gyre runs for about an hour in the morning and again at night. It been a week and time for my first water change after starting AC. I can confirm that even after creating massive amounts of particulates into the water column after every gyre run the AC is still very active and capable of clearing water quickly. For those that may not have success I would suggest adding additional current and surface agitation to see if changes your results. For my current set up, the gyre is absolutely the key to ACs success until I can add additional filtration my tank needs.

Thank you for sharing your story. Filtration is the key. The API Accu-Clear can only work if you have fine mechanical filtration to catch it. Glad to hear you achieve invisible water. 🤘🤘

👍 my water is always clear, I do a soil (gravel clean) once a week into a bucket 50% water removed and that stops algae on the glass. My tap water pH is of the scale 7+ so I combine the water from my dehumidifier which has 5/6 pH or I add pH down. Maybe next time do 50% water change by doing gravel clean and then adding the chemical to clear the water, it may help speed things up.

I wud go with clarity as the overdose wud still be fine and normally tanks wont be that dirty in non living landscapes but its clearly stated that… prevent high dosage in the api
@ssaquascapes Жыл бұрын
Too much of either would be damaging to the system. But, I suspect API has a stronger flocculant and may be the reason for the warning. Just my guess though. Clarity does state to clean the filter after use and the strong flocculants are the reason.

Help i did this and also used api proper ph 7.0 and top fin ammonia neutralizer, and now my tank is super foggy, cloudy and there's like milk power like everywhere, is that what they call bacterial bloom and what should i do? Will it kill my fishes?
@ssaquascapes Жыл бұрын
Cloudy/milky water is generally a bacterial bloom. It shouldn’t kill your fish. I recommend doing a 50% water change immediately, and if it clouds again the next day, another 50% water change. Do this daily until it stabilizes. In the future, try not to mix multiple products all at once. Space them out and do one treatment type per day. After a few days of water changes you should be back at a state where you can let it sit and test kit the water daily to see what is going on. Don’t worry about using any products during this water change schedule. You’ll be removing anything harmful as you change the water. You should be fine, and remember, when in doubt, swap it out! (Water)
@Xephaholic9 ай бұрын
Hi there ! am quite new to fish keeping , from what I've learnt is that bacterial bloom is happening, you should leave it alone and not do any water changes. This is because the other milky cloudy causing bacteria is having a battle with the beneficial bacteria that youre having in your tank. If you were to add new water into the tank , it will supply the nutrients needed for the milky clouding bacteria to grow which will just cause more issues with it. It is because they will use the new nutrients found in the fresh water to propagate themselves. Not trying to correct anyone but its 2 different concepts I am hearing from and am equally confused.@@ssaquascapes

My water could be vastly different from anyone else’s water so results may vary. I would say it’s best to watch different opinions, try a few different solutions, and find out what works for you. Most importantly, remember to have fun exploring this hobby! Thanks for watching and participating in the discussion 🤘
