Mr. Eric what are the reasons for that crack?

A mixture of not enough area and stiffeners installed at right angles to the reinforcement plate and tab. The weight of the door is substantial, in the open position all that weight is being supported by this and as the for engages closed it will torque against the mount. MrEric
