Thanks! I really love it, too! My desk is a from one of those custom cabinet/closet places. They made it specifically for my room and dimensions but you can always have a company like that come out and give you an estimate.

This is my first year homeschooling. This video gave me a lot of ideas but I also feel very unprepared now.

Don't feel unprepared. It's taken me years to figure out the room and make it what will work best for us and it also took me 2 months to get it organized and cleaned like this. Just take it one step, one year at a time and you'll figure it out. :)

Don't feel unprepared! I am going into my 4th year homeschooling and during my first year I was so overwhelmed feeling unprepared. I didn't have the huge homeschool room with beautiful things, tons of light, white desks, tons of books, craft supplies or resources etc. It ruined my first year. I was more focused on my "space" and not tending to my child's love for learning. A kitchen table, notebooks, pencils, your workbooks/curriculum and the library is more than enough. Everything else is just luxury. Watch for sales, rummage sales and book sales! Thrift stores are good, and dollar stores are awesome to find resources. Eventually as the years go on you figure out what you need and will use to fit your families unique needs. Not every homeschool style or "room" works for everyone. Find what is unique to you in this first year of homeschooling, and as the years go on you will be able to feel more confident in your homeschooling space, whatever that may look like. Enjoy your children!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ That is my biggest piece of advice speaking from experience.

The drawers are an insert you purchase from Ikea. They attach to the inside of the cubby.

How much do you think it cost for the first year of homeschooling? Also any guess how much you spend every year after your first?

Goodness, that's a hard question becasue it really all depends on if you're planning to buy a "box curriculum" from a company like Sonlight or if you're planning to pick and choose what you want. It also depends on the age of your kids and how many subjects they'll be taking each year. I would budget a few hundred, at least, just to be safe and if you end up not using it all, you can save it for something else. Remember, there are also lots of free homeschooling resources you can use online.

It's such a pretty color, isn't it? It's my favorite color in the whole house!

I got it in semi-gloss and painted kitchen tiles with it. The owners before us painted the tiles with satin white and it looked pretty bad. That color inspired me to embrace and accent the tiles. I Love it!!!
