As a VIT alumnus, I would probably not recommend it to upcoming batches. With the expanding batch size and more campuses coming up the competition for an average VITian remains the same as it did in JEE. It is true that the professors are good, there are chances for development just like any good ranked NIT/mid-level IITs but the large size of batches offsets a lot out of it. Definitely better than LPU and a lot of other private colleges but not in league with BITS.

The bunk thing is not about classes. It's hostel attendance. Usually a person comes at around 10:30pm to your rooms to take attendance. If you are not in the hostel block after curfewe, they will ask around where the person has gone. If they cannot find the guy, then they will call his parents. The penalty is rarely imposed.

Bhaiya , i'm a second year vit vellore student . The ffcs thing you mentioned, it's hoax . Vitians call it as "fully fucked credit system" . Hardly students get to choose their courses . Also , the exam pressure is extreme . Students might tend to opt out . 6k for failing an exam , which is not an unnatural thing. Lest , whatever you said , was absolutely correct. Back in 2011 when i gave the VIT entrance exam my AIR in vit was 1156 and despite that their admission dept was ready to offer me CS branch.. One of my friend who got AIR under 200 IN IIT JEE 2011..Got AIR 300 in VIT. 🤣 🤣 CAN U BEleive this?? Vit purposely push your ranks down.. Those who are genuine toppers bcs they know toppers in VIT entrance must be toppers in AIEEE or in jee or atleast in their respective state enginenring exams.. So they won't be joining VIT.. My advice to young aspirants :avoid fancy colleges..
