One of the things that I personally interpreted in the episode is that Sachi's lag probably wouldn't spread, so Keita lived close by to Sachi. Which would also enhance his reason for taking a one way skydiving trip.

The reason why SAOA is more consistently written and can be said objectively better in that regard is, aside from praise to SWE, is that Reki Kawahara wasn't a gamer when he wrote SAO. He wanted to write a story and his editor literally told him what's trending, videogames and death game centered stories. So he went and wrote that. He did play pen and paper RPGs yet he had literally zero experience with MMORPGs. He barely understood a lot of things which would be obvious to a videogame fan. This is why guest authors end up writing better stories for his setting than Reki himself. He similarly has no idea about guns or military so of course the Kino's Journey author Keichi Sigsawa is going to write a much more appropriate story for Gun Gale Online.He gets better through the decades yet consider the fact that almost anything that is famous for Reki is his early work which is... yeah, has way too many rough edges.

I love how this seemingly dumb christmas episode is actually the foundation for much of the continuity of this series. I won't say how or why in case someone is actually discovering it along with these uploads but at least this is a testimony of how well thoughtout this abridged series is.

Best of luck with episode 4, based on other reactions I've seen the copyright bots really hate that episode in particular. Semi transparent overlays to obscure the animation seems to work though, but it's not like KZbin is known for equal enforcement so who knows

By far my absolute favourite of the whole series up to now, Kirito trying to be good person and just struggling because everyone around him - bar Sachi - is insufferable (and technically that just means Keita). and of course, the legend of Gary the Evil began.

Hold on...wasn't the tutorial NPC the reason for a lot of the 2000 deaths since it was telling them to jump? That's how a lot of them died was jumping into the void. Even much later Kayaba acknowledged that a lot of players died by jumping.

I had a similar experience with guilt, in high school i brought a metal wire to try open a lock to get something out and some classmates were with me until the janitor showed up and we all ran but one dude stayed and i don't know why but he got caught and taken to the principal, the other dudes told me i should go and tell them it's my fault cuz i brought the wire and was my idea, i was totally surprised because that doesn't look like it was my fault, it was him for not running and everyone acted like they were disappointed in me so there goes a few minutes where now everyone knows i let the guy by himself and i remember myself thinking "it's not my fault" everytime i try to analyze the situation and finally getting to the conclusion of going to the principal and telling him to excuse the little guy because it's my fault yap yap yap and i felt so goddamn obligated to do it like i was forced on gunpoint and it wasn't that big of a deal so i got released no problems and came back to the class "he's okay now, are you happy?" and congratulate me....... the fuck is wrong with you people lmao i still think it's not my fault but sometimes i think maybe it was and i'm just rationalizing my way out of a moral conflict and that's why i'm no longer make decisions based on guilt

You're continuing? OK I hope you don't get copywronged. This "Charisma hat" becomes recurring joke (or at least is relevant sometimes) so yes, please learn that it gives +50 to charisma. Otherwise you might miss something more or less important later.
