The beginning reminds me of a guy I was in a club with. He got hopped up on five 2-liter Mt. Dews. All of which he drank in about 3 hours. He started a story about a radiator blasting out of a truck and 45 NON-STOP minutes later, he finished with the world coming to an end.......all because a radiator blew out of a truck.

9:13 Yeah, it becomes increasingly clear that the original author of SAO really didn't understand the medium he was trying to paint. But you'll find out the major playerbase being generic anime NPCs is one of the more minor offenses to truly making an accurate MMO experience.

This series is great. I hope you will love it as much as we do. One word of warning though: Every episode of the abridged got claimed at first because of the intro song and reactor usually struggle with the same claims, so be careful with that. Maybe you could just skip it or mute it to be sure.

Still can't see SAO as an isekai series. Stuff like Overlord or Log Horizon or Grimgar I can see it because either people don't know it's a game or the game world itself seems to have come alive. SAO where it's just a bunch of people trapped in a static MMO world feels fundamentally different to isekais for me. I can't see Aincrad as "another world", it's just a game.

This might be a controversial take but SAO abridged might just be the one abridged series that is just straight up better than the original, at least in my opinion. Like, DBZA and Hellsing abridged are really good and fun as well but they are at best sidegrades to the actual show, not improvements.

The first two episodes are the weakest. There’s something about every good abridged series on KZbin where they take a few episodes to really nail it down. All the stuff in the Asuna Dating arc is pure gold
