6:55 When Graham Hancock was mentioned, I immediately went "Oh No!" as well. Hearing two "Oh No!'s" as the same time was quite funny, but that says a lot about Hancock.

I'm convinced Graham Hancock grew up with Conan the Barbarian and the stories of the Hyborian Age by Robert E Howard. And he loved it so much he actually convinced himself that all of it was real History.

The sad part was after this movie there was people who really believed that this could happened and there was legit science behind of it. They believed that this movie was inspired from "legit" Science studies just because there was a book of it. They didn't even look up back then the background of the author of it. One of my College friends was one of those guys. It's been years since the last time I heard news about him.

Documentaries generally have better written plots because the creators are able to fact-check instead of making things up as they go along.

Fun fact for you all: Gears of War 3 was going to originally end with the planet blowing up due to Imulson. The creators of Gears of War saw this movie and just changed the ending because they thought it was dumb.

Wow, didn't even know who Graham Hancock was back when I originally watched Pointless Hub's video but since then I've watched Miniminuteman's video on ancient apocalypse. So now I can fully dread the insanity that is Hancock.

PointlessHub's video about Moonfall is pretty good yeah. Can't wait for you to watch it! I only know about Graham Hancock through Milo Rossi's debunking of his series. It's really cool to watch a passionate archaeologist go in depth about why Hancock's claims don't make sense while explaining the process of being an archaeologist. Milo even interviewed one of the legit archaeologists who appeared in Hancock's series and whose words were taken out of context. I've always said that the US is the lightning rod of the world when it comes to alien invasions. Every freaking time there is one, the US take most of it. The funniest movie moment about it for me was in Independence Day, when the US got a plan and you can see all the other countries on the radio be like "Finally, they can tell us poor helpless fools what to do!"

They had me at the first part, but lost by the latter half, like Gordon die and his wife basically didn't even give her an emotional scene. Did they axed it, because they can't fit it in? At least the two shouldn't reconcile so quick, like they are a family, but not in a relationship ending.

As far as the whole “controlling the weather” argument, there is *some* credence to it, but definitely not in the way a lot of the right wing politicians like MTG are so confidently and stupidly pushing it. Cloud seeding is definitely a thing and we have the technology for it, but it’s mainly used in more arid environments that are less prone to rain. Even then, it’s not an ideal thing to use because it can easily cause flooding if done incorrectly (example: Dubai recently when they tried doing it and nearly destroyed their city…). The US only has those kinds of cloud seeding areas in the West since the East already has rain and there’s absolutely no reason to try it here. And if we want to go with the argument of it being weaponized, newsflash: using it as an environmental weapon is internationally banned since it was documented to have been used in Vietnam to prolong and even strengthen a monsoon that came around. Even if the US wanted to use it against their own citizens (and if we did, I’d much prefer it to be over MTG’s residence…), good luck having any good standing with NATO if they caught wind of it.

07:29 I've got to say, Gram Hancock may be controversial, and have some crazy ideas, but he absolutely believes in what he's saying. He unironically does a great job pointing out major holes in archeological history that are largely ignored by academia. My one gripe is that he tries to answer those questions with a mix of mythology and conjecture.
@logangrimnar3800
@logangrimnar3800 Ай бұрын
Specifically, he points out two major things that don't fit well with the standard understanding of civilization. First, the discovery of temples and sites like Gobekli Tepe and Amazonian structures that pre-date the supposed start of civilization. And he points out that anatomically modern humans existed for 200k years and yet we only started building civilization a few thousand years ago, across multiple continents at the same time and supposedly never interacted with eachother. Funny enough, most of this coincided with the raising of sea levels and the swallowing of hundreds of miles of coastline (where civilizations tend to form). But then he goes on about how there was a single, advanced precursor civilization that was more advanced than is that traveled the globe after a catastrophe and founded all the other civilizations. That's a little bit of a stretch. Honestly, it sounds more likely that there were older civilizations that got wiped out as they were displaced by rising sea levels.
